Brooklyn-based artist Brian Donnelly, better known to the art world as KAWS, has taken to his Facebook to reveal his latest creation.

His classic COMPANION figure has been dissected and is finally taking a break. The figure is typically in an upright and posable position, but now KAWS has decided to let the little guy rest. No details yet on pricing or release date, but they will be launched through his website shortly.

NJ-bred graphic designer/graffiti artist KAWS got together with Hennessy a while back on this collaboration, but pictures of some of the bottles are starting to surface.  Always down to mix Hennessy in when possible, maybe a RESPECT. edition in the works?  No word yet, but enjoy this video with KAWS as he talks inspiration, graffiti and current projects.  Check out some more photos of the limited edition bottle HERE.

Paul Kasmin Gallery presents the exhibition Pretty on the Inside, organized by Erik Parker and KAWS. This is the first time that the two artists have collaborated to organize an exhibition. Pretty on the Inside includes works in a range of media by seven American artists: Todd James, KAWS, Tony Matelli, Erik Parker, Joyce Pensato, Peter Saul, and Karl Wirsum. At first glance, these artworks challenge the viewer through their visual intensity, but upon closer inspection, they reveal an inner beauty. Many of the artists included make ironic or subversive works, hijacking the language of cartoons and comics to both celebrate and criticize contemporary culture.

Kaws’ giant 5-meter high Companion has finally landed at Harbour City Hong Kong. In addition to the figure, Kaws created a mural that lines a nearby staircase. To commemorate the occassion, three Harbour City exclusive Kaws items – a t-shirt, coffee mug and stickers – will be available starting October 3, 2010 at the Harbour City Museum of Art.
