Karmaloop TV released their Rockie Fresh video feature today, featuring the Cool Kids. We interviewed Rockie a week or so ago, quizzing him about his upcoming mixtape, Driving 88, and quite frankly, our interview trumps any of the info you’re bound to get from this one. That being said, the good peeps at Karmaloop do know how to produce a dope video, as you get to see behind-the-scenes footage of Rockie performing at the Brooklyn Bowl. Check out the part where Rockie goes shopping. The dude has some serious swagger, Chi-Town style.

Mac Miller has been hard at work on his newest project, Blue Slide Park, but that hasn’t kept the Pittsburgh native from showing love to his fans.  Karmaloop TV sat down with the up-and-coming emcee to talk about his debut album and plans post-release of Blue Slide Park.  News about the video for the first single off the album surfaced earlier this week, but Mac kept somewhat quiet though he did assure fans that it is due out soon.  As for his plans post-Blue Slide Park, he did throw out one name, Madison Square Garden.  “That’d be tight wouldn’t it,” Miller said.

In late June, Karmaloop TV announced that Pharrell Williams would be the station’s new creative director (covered here). Rumor had it Pharrell was going to try to take KTV in a new direction, back to the “old MTV” days of pure hip-hop, culture and music.

A little over a month later, Pharrell and Karmaloop founder Greg Selkoe talked to Bloomberg about exactly what changes they are considering. Mainly, they want to cater the station to what they consider the “verge generation:” a group of tech-savvy, fashion-forward, and multi-cultural youths in today’s society.

Sounds tough to try to snag the teen audience that is already hooked to other stations and shows, but if you ask me, I think they’ll be able to pull it off. From the Billionaire Boys Club to Qream, everything Pharrell touches turns to gold.
