Already a frequent collaborator with Kanye West, A Tribe Called Quest’s Q-Tip has inked a new deal with G.O.O.D Music. The 42-year-old rapper has announced a new album, The Last Zulu, set for release at the top of next year amidst collaborations with Kendrick Lamar and Fiona Apple.

Consequence‘s departure from G.O.O.D. Music earlier this year luckily didn’t keep this track from seeing the light of day. With Kid Cudi on the hook and yet another incredibly dope beat from Kanye West, “On My Own” pre-dates the split from the label. Not that Con doesn’t have some game, but when you’re playing second fiddle to a beat on a track where you claim you can make it on your own it’s hard not to feel the irony. That said, Consequence has his upcoming Movies on Demand 3 mixtape and the eventual release of Cons TV to really prove his independence.
