When speaking on the hype surrounding Nikko Lafre, “Troubled Soul: Blame The City” proves why the buzz is real. Having covered Lafre for a while now, the Minneapolis native has time and time again offered up consistency and diversity with every release. “Troubled Soul” picks up where his singles left off, constructing a 16-track sonic experience that delves into the introspection of personal consciousness, while still appealing to different lanes of the culture. K-BeatZ and Johnny Rain’s production create a landscape, a picturesque shell that allows Nikko’s rhymes to capture moments throughout.
