Boy: Man Of The Woods really just came and went, didn’t it? It certainly wasn’t the same kind of “moment in music” as Justin Timberlake‘s previous efforts (hell, The 20/20 Experience was so successful that fans even got a round 2 the same year it was released). Perhaps his getting caught up in the race/appropriation discussion had something to do with it…

…which may be why he’s already back with a new single titled “Soulmate,” which was produced by dvsn member Nineteen85 (below)..extra shout out to James Fauntleroy, who’s pen is silently maintaining control over the industry as well.

Not trying to end his year on a shaky note, it looks like JT’s back in the game.

With that said, the “Supplies” clip is JT at his most socially and politically aware it seems: between a bunch of television screens, rallies and protests, viewers are able to see instances of #MeToo and sexual assault, the KKK, Freddie Gray and racism/police brutality, corruption and more — all over production from Pharrell Williams. Deep stuff.

In related news: Justin Timberlake recently revealed to Beats 1’s Zane Lowe why it took 16 years for him and Skateboard P to collaborate again…it was because of Jive’s screwed of treatment of former labelmates Clipse:

I don’t know what went on with their deal, but I do remember that Pharrell was very adamant about getting them out of the deal… So it became — from my understanding, you know — it became challenging for him to work with any Jive artist at that point.

R&B Pop star Justin Timberlake has seen his share of slander for the past few months (really, he didn’t help matters with this). With the recent announcement of his forthcoming appearance at the Super Bowl LII Halftime Show, many then took to social media to ask whether or not he’s apologized for Janet Jackson for, well, you should know about what happened there.

Last week, JT then revealed that he’s dropping a new album (because, why not use his NFL-generated momentum to sell records?) titled Man Of The Woods, which come accompanied by the below video:

Unsurprisingly, the response to this new Mumford & Sons/Bon Iver vibe was less than positive as well (Twitter was in an uproar at this point).

Now, fans are able to get a first listen of what to expect with the new single “Filthy,” which was produced by Timberlake, Timbaland and Danja…James Fauntleroy and Larrance Dopson brought their pens to the studio as well. Surprisingly, this seems to be more FutureSex/LoveSounds than anything else, and the accompanying visual by Mark Romanek (which centers around a 2028 conference in Malaysia) is pretty futuristic. So, yea…he’s experimenting for sure, but not in a Kid Rock/Yelawolf/P!nk/any-other-White-person-switching-to-their-“roots”-after-making-it-big-off-Black-music kind of way. Not yet, anyway.

Busy is an understatement for Justin Timberlake, whom has not slowed down yet in his lengthy career and it doesn’t look like the “Bringing Sexy Back” singer has intentions on doing so any time soon. Timberlake and his band The Tennessee Kids are coming to a T.V. set near you, that’s if you’ve got Netflix that is. He’ll be performing a very hyped up and big band concert production “The 20/20 Experience.”

Per media site Complex, Timberlake and Netflix made an announcement back in 2015 that they would be partnering up together for a concert and now a year later, Fans can finally take a front row seat in the comfort of their own homes without the hassle of a big crowd or disturbing views and watch as Timberlake perform his last performance on his 134-date 20/20 Experience World Tour at the MGM Arena in Las Vegas.

Timberlake also teamed up with ‘Silence of the Lambs’ and ‘The Manchurian Candidate’ director Jonathan Demme, to direct the last concert performance.

“It’s very emotional, very exciting. “It’s a space age music film…There’s tremendous dancing in this piece. He’s got an extraordinary band called the Tennessee Kids. Huge horn section, two lead guitars, two drummers, eight dancers, four exquisite background singers. And we caught them on their last performance.” – Jonathan Demme

It definitely looks like J.T. will be pulling out all the stops with this one, Justin will not be sitting back to rest, the 35 year-old mega star will also be lending his voice to the animated film Trolls in which he executive produced and wrote four songs for the animated film. He also did a remake of the song “True Colors” with Anna Kendrick which will be out this fall.
