Joey Badass has always been a lyrical assassin on the mic, and when it comes to speaking his mind his delivery is very straight forward with that too.

During an interview with Montreality, Joey talks about his political views and why continue to remain outspoken against the injustices that people of color face in America.

“Hell yeah, I’m a threat to the government. I’m a 22, young black male who’s very aware and enlightened of what’s going on in this country. Not only am I aware, but I’m sharing it with my fans. I’m a big threat, I’m not scared, this is what I was put on Earth for.”

Joey also discussed his relationship with fellow MC Kendrick Lamar, stating that although he and Schoolboy Q have hit the road on two separate tours, that he believes his relationship with Lamar will happen in its own time.

“Me and Kendrick we don’t talk too much, we never got the chance to really build, but I already know we right here with it. Timing is everything with me, I just let the Universe take its course when that’s supposed to happen, it’s gonna happen.”

In regards to his opinion on JAY-Z‘s recent release, 4:44, Joey states that he believes his music had an influence on Hov and the creation of the project.

“I put a certain pressure on these OGs in the rap game, they know what they gotta talk about now. Cause they got this ‘young n**** Joey Badass’ talking about this sh*t before they got the chance to talk about it. I feel like I was an inspiration to 4:44, I loved the album, it’s great, and I’m glad I could be an inspiration. 4:44 sounds just like the neighborhood (Bed-Stuy), I didn’t feel that way about Magna Carta.”

Steez Day is almost here again and it’s coming to New York City this time. On Tuesday, June 20,  Joey Bada$$ and CJ Fly announced the third annual festival on social media. Both Pro Era members revealed details about the event through a Kid Super designed flyer.

This just in two-and-a-half weeks after Joey spilled some tea about upcoming LPs from both Pro Era album and Steez. Though release dates for the Pro Era project and Steez’s solo effort King Capital have yet to be unveiled.  This year’s Steez Day is set to take place at the PlayStation Theather in New York, NY on July 7. Tickets go on sale on Friday, June 23 right HERE on the PRO ERA site.

The Underachievers, Ab-Soul, Saba, J.I.D, Jay IDK, and Jazz Cartier, and returning act A$AP Mob are all slated to take center stage at the festival. Surprise guests are also scheduled to perform. Last year’s Steez Day kicked off in Los Angelos, featuring Raury,  and Danny Brown among others. The celebration will mark what would’ve been Steez’s 24th birthday. The event was first initiated in 2015 as a tribute to the late Pro Era founder and friend. Steez, né Jamal Dewar committed suicide on December 23, 2012, by jumping from the rooftop of Cinematic Group headquarters in Manhattan, NY. He was 19-years-old.

Fresh from his latest body of work, Everybody, Logic announces a new 29-day tour to promote his new album.

However, Logic won’t be hitting the road by himself. Pro Era frontman Joey Badass will be joining him on “Everybody’s Tour” starting this July.

As of now, Logic is looking to dethrone King Kendrick’s DAMN. three week dominance on the Billboard charts. If you may recall, DAMN. went platinum in under three weeks, meanwhile all fourteen tracks of Kendrick’s went number one on the Billboard 200 charts.

Having a loyal fanbase pose with your album on social media helped pushed Logic’s Everybody upward with its amazing first week 210,000 unit push.

Tickets for the tour go on sale Tuesday, May 16– kicking off in Salt Lake City on July 7 and ending August 26 in Toronto.

Joey Bada$$ is set to release his new album ALL AMERIKKKAN BADA$$ (AABA) on April 7th which will feature guest appearances from J. Cole, ScHoolboy Q, and Styles P among many others.

The long awaited release marks the Brooklyn-bred MC’s second major studio album and is it set to drop the same day as Kendrick Lamar’s highly anticipated and still-untitled LP.

One of the collaborations that fans were eagerly waiting to hear is the ScHoolboy Q featured ‘Rockabye Baby’, which does not disappoint. The gritty track proves that the duo is a force to be reckoned with lyrically, and very aware of what’s going on in politics as Joey disses Donald Trump again as he spits:

“Time is running up, feel the burn in my gut/ and if you got the guts, scream, ‘Fuck Donald Trump.'”

Not one to disappoint on any flow, Schoolboy Q follows with a slow-burning verse that begins with him rhyming over an acoustic guitar melody before building to a vernacular pitch, as he rhymes:

“From gettin’ lynched in fields into owning buildings/ getting millions, influencing white children/ And oddly we still ain’t even/ Still a small percentage of blacks that’s eating.”

Joey Badass maybe ripping stages across the country with SchoolBoy Q on the Blank Face Lp Tour, but it didn’t stop him from dropping new music for fans.

The Brooklyn MC released another preview of his upcoming AABA LP with his latest single “Front and Center” produced by Cookin’ Soul. The hard-hitting track, which features a Spanish-infused sample is indeed inspired by the Netflix hit Narcos and according to Joey via Twitter was made while he was in Mexico last year.

In addition to dropping heat, in an interview with Shay of 106KMEL, Joey confirmed that he worked on a joint track with Wiz Khalifa, although it’s unknown on whether the track will make the cut.

“I have been in the studio with my brother Wiz [Khalifa] the other night,” Joey said. “We were working on a song, a nice little song.”

Wiz Khalifa also confirmed via Twitter  that there was a collab that took place with the comment that the project “sounded like album material”.

Joey also opened up about the concept behind his upcoming album, revealing that he is “nervous” about the album with its heavy focus on the current #BlackLivesMatter movement.

In addition to discussing his album, Joey opened up that his original childhood dream didn’t include the mic but instead was set to be President of the United States.

“It’s crazy because I just realized that I was a rapper three weeks ago,” Joey said. “Because I think of myself as so many different things. Growing I was such a smart kid, I bet if you asked any of my school teachers the last thing they would think is that I would be a rapper, they would have  told you I was going to be President.”
