Denzel Washington is one of the most revered and polished icons in Hollywood, so when he sat down with fellow legend Jamie Foxx things went a little off script in the candid interview.

In the latest edition of the Thrillist and Grey Goose series “Off Script”, Jamie and Denzel discuss a variety of subjects from roles that were mistakenly passed up to their love for Cardi B as the two relax and have a few laughs.

In regards to his stunts, Washington reveals that at 63 years old, he still performs most of his on-screen stunts.

“I do most of my stunts,” Denzel said. “you won’t see me jumping off of nothing but the fight scenes and things like that I still do.”

When it comes to his legendary and iconic status in Hollywood, Washington states that he doesn’t look at his peers in Hollywood as competition.

“It’s not a competition,” Denzel continued. “I’m not competing against others, I am just trying to get better and that’s why I act on stage, in movies, direct and produce because I like new challenges.”

While discussing his moment at the Oscars with the legendary James Bond actor Sean Connery, Washington divulged that it was after Connery took the stage, that he decided to take it to the streets by jacking a floral arrangement from the prestigious event.

“Let me tell you a Sean Connery story, he was up for the Untouchables and I was up that year for I think it was Cry at Freedom and he comes out to present an award and got a three-minute standing ovation- for presenting an award, I went to get the coats,” Denzel said laughing. “I’m going to get the coats because I know I ain’t winning tonight. So now we are leaving and I’m not leaving without the Oscar right, so I said, ‘I’m leaving with something’ and my mom said, ‘get the flower arrangement.’ True story.”

Singer, actor and comedian, Jamie Foxx turned 50 years yesterday and celebrated it in style at Paramount Pictures Studios in Los Angeles, California.

It wasn’t your typical birthday either! It was a full-fledged concert. According to TMZ, Foxx was joined by Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg and Too $hort for the big bash. While there Ice Cube performed hits like “Gangsta Gangsta” and Ludacris performed “Move B****.”

Legitimately a modern day Paul Robeson, the Academy and Golden Globe Award Foxx has an eclectic career. As an actor, he crossed over when he played the late, Ray Charles in the film, Ray.

Somewhere in between, he’d find time to do comedy specials like the memorable I Might Need Security.

Long before Ray though,  Foxx, born Eric Bishop was a regular on In Living Color. Over the years he’d be play memorable roles like aspiring actor and hotel employee Jamie King on the Jamie Foxx Show. Foxx would later accompany Kanye West and Twista in “Slow Jams” from West’s debut “College Dropout” album.

Wally Szczerbiak chats with Scoop B Radio about the time Kevin Garnett  appeared on The Jamie Foxx Show and the hilarious moment when Jamie and KG couldn’t pronounce his last name. Press Play Below To Listen!

Remember that time Kevin Garnett guest starred on the Jamie Foxx show?

Garnett, then in his first stint with the Minnesota Timberwolves was in town and was staying as a guest at King’s Tower. The funniest scene of that episode was when Jamie was wearing a Timberwolves jersey that was not KG’s and Garnett pointed it out. Jamie indicated that the store ran out of KG’s #21 jerseys, but had a whole lot of Wally Szczerbiak jerseys.

Just one problem: Jamie and KG couldn’t pronounce Wally’s last name. Sound it out darnit: ‘SIR-BE-AK’

Instead, Foxx and KG broke out in a session of Three 6 Mafia & UGK’s Sippin’ on Some Sizzurp.

Poor Wally Szczerbiak!

“I remember when that happened,” Wally Szczerbiak told me on Scoop B Radio. 

“If social media was alive back then my computers would have been blowing up. That was a great moment. I had some great years with Kevin Garnett, we had our ups and downs. But in the end, everything worked out well. That was a pretty funny scene though one that I will always remember and always go back to YouTube and watch.”

Szczerbiak also discussed the state of the current Timberwolves squad that includes Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins.“They’ll always have a special place in my heart,” said Szczerbiak.

“I always root for the Timberwolves and it breaks my heart that ever since KG and I left they haven’t made the playoffs just goes to show you how hard it is to win in the NBA and it takes a little bit of luck. But I think the fact that they have multiple number one draft picks and are developing talent, the future is bright for them and hopefully one of these years they can get it right and things can start to click and lead to wins because that’s a really proud franchise that I remember winning a lot of games with and making multiple playoff runs.”

Recently on Thursday (May 25), Jamie appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to promote his new game show, Beat Shazam–in which he will be the host for the show. Jamie and Fallon battled it out on a regular Fallon segment called “Musical Genre Challenge.”

“Musical Genre Challenge” puts Fallon against his guests in a battle to sing popular songs in various genres. For example, Fallon belted out a ’60s rock version of the “Bad and Boujee” hit by Migos. Despite Jimmy’s impressive attempt to flip “Bad and Boujee”, it was Jamie who stole the show away. In the end, Fallon accepted defeat calling Foxx  “the most talented man on earth” by the end of the segment.

Watch Jamie absolutely kill it in the Musical Genre Challenge Below. He committed to a Broadway musical version of Baha Men’s “Who Let The Dogs Out?” and an opera rendition of Rihanna‘s “B-tch Better Have My Money.”

You know him from hit shows like The Wire and Friday Night Lights and top films like Creed, Fruitvale Station and Marvel’s Fantastic 4, actor Michael B. Jordan is on the move.

The actor caught up with me on Friday’s Scoop B Radio podcast and chatted about the opportunity of starring in the reboot of Marvel’s Fantastic Four, his collabo with Sprite and their commitment to new film-makers and having mentors in Hollywood.

As the saying goes: each one, teach one. While he’s growing in his career and offering solid advice, he’s also leaned on and accepted the advice of others.

“Yeah man, I’ve been blessed to have a lot of people kind of been able to mentor me,” Michael B. Jordan told me. “Jamie Foxx, John Singleton, I’ve had some really important people; Oprah Winfrey, sit down and give me really important advice over the years.”

Within the past couple years the fashion world has been shedding more light onto the men apparel industry. Don’t believe us? Menswear designers now have the opportunity to showcase their upcoming lines separate from women designers with their own fashion week. Men’s Fashion Week takes place a week prior to women’s and this is where the real menswear enthusiasts get to showoff!

Some fail to realize how detailed men’s fashion can be. I mean, men like to wear jewelry or accessories that accentuate their outfit or personality probably just as much as women do. So whenever we come across new talent we’re all eyes on their production! Which brings us behind the scenes with the designer of Regime NY.

Regime NY is a innovative jewelry line who was founded by Ariel Neman, a native New Yorker. I emphasize the fact that he is a native New Yorker considering his background is congruent with his line appealing to street style, and we know New York is famous for it’s street style.

Neman is a bright young man who is currently in medical school for dentistry, so if anyone can understand the importance of having balance it is him. He looks up to Tom Ford, Jerry Lorenzo and Mike Amiri for fashion inspiration along the way. Respectively, if you look at his pieces and feel it would match perfectly with a Tom Ford suit that is why.

Neman is very hands on with Regime NY due to 95% of the designs coming from himself while gaining influence from minimalist concepts.

The more in depth he got into this line the more he realized how separate the accessory industry is from the clothing. Granted they both piggy back off each other however, there is somewhat of a difference between the two. “Jewelry is very meticulous and hard to put out on a runway” says Neman when explaining his perception of this industry.

With Regime NY being around for a short time it has seen much success, with the likes of Jamie Foxx, Nick Jonas and Fetty Wap … just to name a few indulging in the austere designs of the line. If this is a foreshadow of whats to come Regime NY has a vivid road ahead.

Like most fresh new lines the best advertisement is word of mouth and this method has worked adequately for Regime NY. With Instagram being another outlet for viewing Regime NY pieces this is also the best way to place custom orders.

With everyone dream-chasing Neman made one thing very clear:

“Don’t let your age define who you are, go with your heart and passion.”
