After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania, he decided that the next phase in his life was to pursue music seriously. His New York upbringing is one of the most notable things about his music, as it is directly reflected in his sound.

Coming off of an amazing performance at Villanova, Laine’s deep lyrical content is taking him to new heights. One of the coolest things about this MC is his infusion of soul and hardcore rap. This unique sound can be heard directly on his “Runner” single, his first release of the year.

Currently Laine is preparing for the release of his forthcoming sophomore effort What Things May Come, scheduled to be released this spring. After his Homecoming project landed him on Cozz’s (Dreamville) Effected Tour, it was a no brainer for Laine to continue to put his foot on the gas.

But that’s New York City, 60 miles north of where Newburgh, a small but resilient city that, while it may not have the glitzy history, it has Jacques Laine, & considering his newest release, “Check In,” that may be enough to generate some buzz.
