New Yorkers in the entertainment and fashion industry dedicate time, money and creativity to make their mark not just to the city that never sleeps, but the world.

To quote mega-producer, DJ Khaled it’s: THE ONLY WAY.

Meet Jace Lipstein, owner of Grungy Gentleman, a a New York born menswear collection that balances design, digital media and commerce with the services of a creative agency. That’s like having a Chickfila drive thru in your backyard.

But I digress.

The company’s nomenclature is the ability to collide and disrupt culture with fashion, sports, entertainment while marrying it to high fashion and urban cultures. 

That’s a lot! But it is working.

Fly hats, sweatsuits, cool blazers and flips flops, its a mashup that today’s modern gent can appreciate.

You name it, they stars have worn it too: New York Knicks rising star, Kristaps Porzingis, Houston Rockets all star guard, Chris Paul, rappers Juelz Santana and Jadakiss and NFL’s Todd Gurley, Von Miller Jordy Nelson, Eric Decker and Charlson Woodson.

The brand is growing by the day. Mentions in GQ, Men’s Health and ESPN The Magazine are notches to the belt. Add runway sets at New York Fashion Week, partnerships with Timberland and nostalgic brand Mitchell & Ness to that pot too!

That’s major!

Where does that inspiration come from? “I am a New Yorker through and through,” Jace Lipstein told me on Scoop B Radio.

“You know, it is such  an unbelievable melting pot, where it’s weird.  I get inspiration like randomly from people who aren’t really trying to put themselves together too nicely. I call it actually training my eye.”

Be on the lookout for Lipstein and the Grungy Gentleman launch of Indiana University apparel on November 15 and December 16, as well as some new New York Knicks and New York Rangers-inspired stuff as well.
