]]> Ryshon Jones America -DreamlessThe economy is supposedly on the upturn, yet misery and malaise still abound. On “American-Dreamless” Ryshon Jones invokes this disappointing reality, provocatively asking what’s the point of pursuing the American Dream if everyone no longer believes in it. Rapping over Highleef‘s crawling, subtly militant instrumental, Jones plows through the fog, searching for answers to his question. His anger is palpable and it builds as the song progresses, manifesting in his increasingly accelerated delivery, but it never becomes consuming. It’s almost as if Jones has previously pursued the path of  pure wrath and knows its limitations. Thus, he keeps his anger in check, wielding it, yet never letting it wield him. Perhaps that control is what allows him to continue ambulating through the fog, searching for the American Dream despite knowing that dream killers lurk in the shadows. Listen below.
