Chicago artist and multidisciplinary artist Hex Hectic has been described as a “mogul in the making” and as a recording artist, “the next hip-hop star” according to award-winning journalist, Anna Davlantes.

Musically, Hex began his music career in 2014, when he was selected to participate in an artist development program by an organization called, Donda’s House. The organization was named after Kanye West’s mother and led by Grammy & Oscar Award Winner, Che “Rhymefest” Smith. Hex graduated from the program and continued to be mentored by Rhymefest. The organization halted operations after a public bout between Kim & Kanye West and then creative director, Rhymefest. The issue was resolved on an episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

In 2017, Hex launched his own news, entertainment & radio streaming platform named, “HEX FM.” Hex credits the root of his love of music to a radio he owned and said, “For me, throwing FM at the end of it was like paying homage in a way. People always say radio & tv are dying so this is my way of keeping of piece of that.”

Aside from business & music, Hex serves as the digital director of a not-for-profit organization known as the True Star Foundation. Formerly a magazine, Hex learned about the organization after watching an episode of Lifetime’s, “The Rap Game.” In the episode, So So Def CEO, Jermaine Dupri, introduces True Star to the ensemble cast. As an organization, they focus on teaching urban youth marketing & multimedia production.

His newest project is a self-titled interactive comic-book that paints Hex as a recording artist turned vigilante who combats oppressive forces. The narrative serves Hex’s audience with a fictional storyline that accompanies Hex’s music while creatively tieing in real-life issues that underprivileged communities face every day.

The comic book is being distributed by Amazon’s Comixology platform.
