The upcoming release of the highly-anticipated video game Grand Theft Auto V has brought with it an array of intriguing musical collaborations on its soundtrack, including the previously released Action Bronson and Danny Brown‘s “Bad News” and Flying Lotus and DOOM‘s collab “Masquatch.” Perhaps the most interesting yet of these tracks is “Play It Cool,” a new hit by rappers Oh No and The Alchemist, together referred to as the duo Gangrene.

The track also features Earl Sweatshirt and Samuel T. Herring of indie rock band Future Islands for an unexpectedly satisfying twist to the catchy song; Earl delivers tight rhymes while Herring provides a melodic hook that mixes perfectly with the jazzy beat that dominates the track.

“Play It Cool” is the first single released off of Gangrene’s upcoming album, The Alchemist and Oh No Present: Welcome to Los Santos, due to be released in accompaniment the new game on April 14th. The full-length was created as an expansion to the score Gangrene originally created for Grant Theft.

We can always expect dope music from the Grand Theft Auto soundtrack. The video game series just released a next generation version of their latest, Grand Theft Auto V, and part of that soundtrack contribution is a track from Freddie Gibbs & producer/audio engineer Mike Dean. Living up to the song’s title, the production carries heavy weight, adding intensity to Gibbs’ gritty lyrics. Listen to the cut below and let us know what you think.

Al Rogers Jr. makes his own version of  Inc.’s “The Place” and builds upon theirs, furnishing it with brief descriptions of his life’s ups and downs– mentioning the loss of a friend to an unwavering pill addiction. We haven’t  heard much from Al since his first project in 2012, but it seems as though this offering  serves as a precursor to his impending project, Baby Al.

Listeners who have heard the distinctive melodic funk of “The Place” before may recognize it from the Grand Theft Auto V Soundtrack. The L.A. based brothers are signed to British indie label 4AD, also home to SpaceGhostPurrp and Grimes. Listen to Al‘s rendition below.

Tyler, The Creator has released a new track titled “Garbage.” The song is going to be the on the soundtrack for Grand Theft Auto V. Tyler spits about drugs, sex and love for violence over a video game-inspired beat which he produced himself. Tyler posted the tweets below regarding the track:
