This year’s GRAMMY Awards had it moments, especially in regards to Hip-Hop in particular: Drake started saying some real s*** during his awards speech (before being cut off), Cardi B made history it legit took someone not inherently Hip-Hop to shout out the currently-incarcerated 21 Savage near the end of the show. Also, many Hip-Hop stars chose to sit-out, probably quite aware that this event only uses the culture for their personal benefit (at this that’s the word on the street, shoutout to Jay-Z…but what do I know?). Oh, any a lot of people were upset at J. Lo.

On January 28th of next year, the highly-coveted GRAMMY Awards will be coming to New York City — it’s the first time there in almost 15 years. This week, we now know who will be vying for the many categories available.

First off, Hip-Hop deserves an applause — Jay-Z leads his peers with eight nods (including Album and Record of the Year) while Kendrick Lamar follows behind with seven (including the same two aforementioned). Bruno Mars (6), SZA (5) and Childish Gambino (5) add to the leaders’ list as well; meanwhile, Rapsody, Cardi B (!), Migos, GoldLink and more also have reason to celebrate. Another interesting statistic: the album categories are completely non-white male for the first time in two decades.

I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the artists that strangely got passed over: usual Pop frontrunners like Lady Gaga and Katy Perry are in the dark, as well as a should’ve been nominated Ed Sheeran. Even Future and The Weeknd couldn’t get a single look, which is…surprising.

Anyways, you can view the list in full over at the GRAMMYs official website.

The singer was asked to perform at the 59th annual Grammys, and of course, she puts on an absolutely stunning performance. Queen Bey performed songs “Love Drought” and “Sandcastles” from her sixth studio album Lemonade and as expected, she sent all of twitter into a frenzy.

“What makes me most proud and why I’m here tonight to introduce Beyoncé is the devotion and love I see in her for my daughter, and the way she has always expressed love to all of those around her,” her mother Tina Lawson said when introducing Beyoncé to the stage.

Beyoncé is truly a goddess while glowing in her floor-length golden gown crafted by designer Peter Dundas, and her magnificent huge gold piece that gives the look a perfect finishing touch. It doesn’t get anymore flawless than that and Queen Bey did not disappoint! Check out her fabulous looks from the 2017 Grammys below.

It’s Grammys season!

2016 has been quite the year with some of our favorite artists and some new ones delivering music worthy of winning the famous gold megaphone. We are only a few short months away before the famous televised awards show airs; however, we are able to anticipate award winners with the list of nominees that has finally arrived as of today.

The general field categories were announced via Tuesday’s episode of CBS This Morning, meanwhile the rest of the year’s list was on the official Grammys website.

This year’s awards is different from shows of the past. Earlier this year, Chance the Rapper created an effective social media campaign to include streaming records to be eligible for Grammy consideration. Chance, an independent artist himself, and others like him now have something to celebrate.

Below lies the partial list of Grammy nominees.

The 58th Grammy’s award was a big night for Kendrick Lamar taking home 5 awards, putting him at the top of the list for wins last night. Kendrick has warmed our hearts year after year by proving himself to a socially conscious rapper who’s music speaks volumes. His actions often display the same sentiments and last night was no different.

Kendrick, teaming up with Reebok Classic, brought along 5 of his biggest fans from his alma mater, Compton Centennial High School, to enjoy the Grammy Awards in person, celebrate their idols big wins and bear witness to one of the most epic Grammy performances of all time. We’re sure Kendrick had just the help that he needed to carry those 5 Grammy wins out of The Staples Center. These kids have enjoyed a Grammy experience that they will be talking about for years to come.
