Boston rap duo G. Dot & Born share their cinematic new video for “Never Give Up,” an inspirational anthem that couldn’t be more timely.

As we all face the realities of the current global pandemic, it can be difficult to keep your head and maintain. And while G. Dot & Born aren’t necessarily offering a solution for our collective woes, they are providing a sound piece of advice with the Gee Popi-produced “Never Give Up.”

The message is right there in the title, but it’s driven home in the intro (“Pain is inevitable but misery is optional”) and the verses from both rappers. In particular, Born kicks off the track with a powerful verse focused on depression and suicide. It’s an issue that has haunted the Boston native since childhood after witnessing his cousin take his own life. Born hopes this video serves as a way to raise awareness towards the escalating rates of youth suicide and depression in our society, especially throughout the inner cities.

The video is directed by Pxvcegod Films, whose vision primarily centers on G. Dot & Born themselves as they deliver their vocals. There are also dedications to friends and family they have lost over the years, as well as a narrative surrounding two men trying to stay positive. But amidst it all, there’s an uplifting feel to it all, and the two emcees prove they’re more than capable of being a shining light with their music.

Putting their raw and honest street tales to the side, Boston rap duo G. Dot & Born are showing some love to the special ladies in their lives with their new video for “She’s So Perfect.”

The video is directed by D. Baines, who has previously worked with notable acts including Akon and Young Dolph, and he brings a cinematic vision to the romantic rap anthem. This means crisp and high-def footage of G. Dot & Born enjoying the finer things with their equally fine women at their side. Whether they’re just out on the town or getting cozy in the bedroom, the two emcees are keen on making good of the promises in their verses.

The single itself was released earlier this year and produced by Cxdy, though it’s not taken from any forthcoming release from the pair. G. Dot & Born may be more focused on their individual pursuits at the moment—particularly Born’s steady-rising solo career that has included the explosive “Hot Topic” single—but they’ll always connect as a duo and put on for their city. And they’re doing it in the tradition of their mentor, Boston rap veteran, Edo G, who we can safely say must be proud of his students.

2017 has definitely come in with a BANG! And G Dot & Born are a big part of it. The rhyme duo is back with a new video produced by Ben Hedibi. The new feature also has an appearance by the Juice Crews own, Masta Ace. The video is a dusty laced track that was shot in Boston, which is where G Dot and Born come from.

In the video the three go round to round about war stories and lessons learned growing up on the block. Here’s what the duo had to say about the track “Ghetto Survivors” what the name means and the collaboration with Ace:

Speaking on the track Born states, “G and I related a lot of the rough side of what we’ve been through on the track. We wanted someone who lived it but could drop some positive jewels as well and Ace brought that balance.”

G Dot and Born have definitely not been silent; the duo has been making some strong moves over the last couple of years. They completed a full-length album with mentor Edo G entitled Confidence Presents G Dot & Born Featuring Edo G. “Makin Tracks” was the first video from the album; it garnered 300,000 views.
