With everything going on right now, the world could use little pick-me-up and Lil Uzi’s “Wassup” lyric video is just that. Courtesy of Trix Studios and director Yasha Gruben, this visual comes on the heels of the official single featuring Future. This release is beyond its time, possessing high technology and video at the highest level of innovation.
Using deep fake algorithms, the video features a “Boom” (a parody of Zoom) call between a number of hip-hop stars — and political figures like Kim Jong Un, President Obama, and Trump. What makes this visual super memorable is that you will see the political figures mouthing the word “wassup” over the infectious chorus. Uzi’s verse simulates a Google image search, superimposing his face over famous portraits such as Steve Jobs, the Mona Lisa, Michael Jackson, and Jean-Michel Basquiat. The Philly rapper has created a body of work that simply cannot be duplicated.
Meanwhile, Future’s verse zooms out a bit to observe the computer’s user, a busty woman lounging around half-dressed. Then the video closes as the laptop crashes thanks to a bunch of error messages. Lil Uzi Vert has set the bar high for all entertainers in the music business trying to be different. One thing that is for certain is that Vert has scored himself another hit record!

Future recently broke the internet with his latest “Life Is Good” video featuring his frequent collaborator Drake. The video was followed by endless memes and gifs of the two stars dressed up as regular joes with 9-5. The video goes from Garbage Men picking garbage, to hourly sales associates in custom designed “hands on the peach” store. The two are seen working in Fast Food joint..cheffing in a gourmet type kitchen then transitioning to Drake acting out as a mechanic. There were a lot of details, one of them the internet couldn’t get enough of was; Drake googling how to fix a car on his cracked-screen iPhone, followed by so many hilarious moments. The song is well catered to Future’s fanbase which is mostly teenagers often working these jobs. A well-composed, entertaining music video that had everyone talking.

]]> ‏Wednesday night (Nov.20) in Atlanta, GA, Future celebrated his 36th birthday amongst family, friends, business partners, and fans. Doors opened at 10pm with guests being greeted with decor of an enchanted forest, with human sized bird nests, representing the home of the signature Eagle emblem of the label, Freebandz.
The venue marketed Future’s forthcoming project #ForeverorNever, with branded lighting, merchandise, and music available for preview. The DJ played Future classics, but the activated Experience Room, featured a preview of Future’s new single, Last Name, featuring Lil Durk (who was in attendance). Future has been teasing his forthcoming mixtape, #ForeverorNever that includes artists from his Freebandz roster like SuperNovaaa, Lil Wookie, Guap Tarantino, and Doe Boy to name a few.
The Freebandz and Epic Records team was in attendance dressed in all white (for love & loyalty) and invited patrons wore all black providing a grown & sexy vibe for his birthday.
Celebrities filled the building bringing together talents like Jaquees, Lil Uzi, Lil Durk, T.I. & Tiny, Lil Kim, Meek Mill, 2Chainz, DJ Clue, Mike Will Made-It, B.O.B., and industry execs such as Sylvia Rhone. It was an EPIC night, with the sponsor 1800 Tequila pouring signature drinks to honor Future’s special day as well as Lyft providing free rides.

]]> Future is celebrating the five-year anniversary of his game-changing mixtape, Monster by dropping it on streaming services everywhere. Monster was originally released Oct. 28th, 2014.

Many remember that the project was produced by Metro Boomin. Future is re-releasing the mixtape, in honor, of his friend and former engineer Seth Firkins who passed in 2017. This tape came equipped with classics like “Fuck Up Some Commas, Codeine Crazy, and My Savages.” Fans have a chance to re-order, the vintage “Monster” tee that originally dropped in 2016.

This is the first time Monster is available on all streaming platforms. You can stream the classic mixtape below and leave a comment with your favorite records.

]]> Future and Guap Tarantino just wrapped up a surprise visit to Columbia High School, in Atlanta, GA on Friday (Aug 23). Students had no idea the Freebandz team, would be in attendance and performing 4-5 songs. The teens went wild and received Freebandz t-shirts designed in their school colors.

The school was gifted with a $10,000 check on behalf of Future’s FreeWishes Foundation. The check is a donation to Columbia High School’s athletic programs. The FreeWishes Foundation is a 501(C)3 public charity that services the metro Atlanta area. The foundation aims to deliver a message of hope, preserverance and resilience to the community by lending support and making dreams come alive and wishes come true.
