Damn. According to reports, Chicago rap star Fredo Santana died Friday night from an apparent seizure — he was only 27 and has an 8-month-old son. In addition to a steady stream of music for his fans, Fredo was also recently a major advocate for the anti-lean movement; he also battled liver and kidney problems pretty regularly.

RIP to a man that truly came into his own as an artist and pioneering voice for the new generation. Condolences go out to his loved one.

Chicago, Illinois artist Fredo Santana opens up to his fans about his most recent health scare.

The up and coming rapper was recently rushed to the hospital after being diagnosed with liver and kidney failure. He takes it to twitter to explain his thoughts and feelings on the incident that could’ve ended his life.

“I’m getting help I might just go to rehab” Fredo Santana writes on his Twitter account. He even gave fans an explanation of what happened that day. “Gino found me on the floor shaking bleeding out the mouth having a seizure. Sh*t could’ve been the end.”

He continues his series of sincere and concerned tweets with “Hopefully I can be the face to show ni**as to slow down and we got our whole life ahead of us. F*ck being rock stars and getting high.”

The use of lean in hip-hop continues to hurt and end the lives of many artists. The devastating scene that occurred has lead Fredo to wanting to change his ways and encourage others to stay away from the codeine cough medicine.

Chicago’s Fredo Santana released a new song “My Pistol Make Ya Famous,” reminding us all that drill music is alive and well in 2017. This street official banger features none other than the Chicago drill king himself, Chief Keef. Fredo and Keef always sound great together as they continue to prove it on this new release. How could this go wrong when they team up on a new track called “My Pistol Make Ya Famous?” I wonder how the title even came up?

Fredo’s first release of 2017 and I’m already looking forward to hearing more music from both artists. Maybe we will get another joined project. Who knows? Until then, check out “My Pistol Make Ya Famous” below and tell us what you think of the new track!

“Everyday I’m like FREE GUCCI!” Time and time again, the industry’s favorite Atlanta emcee, Gucci Mane, always finds away to keep his fans in anticipation of his release by dropping bars while behind bars. Flooding the streets with music from jail is nothing new for the originator of “Lemonade.” But this time he followed the new trend in the music industry by releasing an unannounced an album this morning.

The album titled, Meal Ticket has a heavy 36-track list. It is a combination of his three previous projects: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, & Dessert. Meal Ticket includes features from iLoveMakonnen, OGD, Young Scooter, Waka Flaka Quavo, Sy Ari Da Kid, Fredo Santana, Chief Keef, Reese, Andy Milokanis, and Rich the Kid.

Reportedly, the incarcerated rapper is set to be free in September and has a tour already scheduled. Maybe this is his attempt to feed the streets until he is a free man. Or maybe he’s trying to free up some space on his hard drive to give us more music. Either way it goes, we are going to be set for a while with these 36-tracks.

You can stream for free below or you buy it on iTunes.
