Polish graffiti artist M-City has recently hit two walls in Mexico City this month, and as always we’re more than impressed by what we’re seeing. M-City has been utilizing a broader color palette in his latest pieces, straying a bit from his characteristic black, white and grey stencil works, and we can’t say that we mind. The orange and red accents in the piece above really pop, and a deep red and bright blue manage to dominate his second Mexico City piece. While he may be playing with colors, M-City still manages to incorporate his signature gear and industrial theme, inspiration that comes as a by-product of his experience as a video game graphic designer.

Although 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea may have originated as a French tale, its impact can be felt on English waters with Phlegm‘s latest work.  Phlegm, cartoonist and urban artist, has recently hit a canal boat that can be seen floating around England. This most recent work, which features a detailed, black and white, monstrous squid, is remarkable.

While a canal boat may seem like a strange canvas choice to some (even though he has painted a plane before), it may have something to do with Phlegm’s self-described “strange relation to graffiti.” Phlegm originally started as a cartoon artist, and while his cartoon drawings remain as a lot of his inspiration, he remarks that his graffiti side has recently taken over. As for the spaces he likes to grace with his works, he tells Fat Cap he “love[s] to get run down urban spaces and factories and play with the space…A painting in the street becomes part of the cities architecture, influenced by what’s around it rather than being some awkward canvass in an art gallery.”
