King Ice, an LA-based streetwear jewelry brand is releasing an official Death Row Records apparel capsule featuring basketball/baseball jerseys and hats.

Death Row Records was one of the most significant labels in music history. Since it was founded in 1991, its cultural impact was monumental cultivating superstars like Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and 2Pac Shakur. By 1994, the label had generated $300 million in sales producing numerous classic hip-hop albums including Dre’s “The Chronic” (1992) certified triple-platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America, Snoop’s “Doggystyle” (1992) certified quadruple-platinum and Pac’s “All Eyez On Me” (1996) certified diamond by the RIAA.

King Ice previously partnered with Death Row Records, releasing a jewelry collection inspired by the legendary music label. Artists like Snoop Dogg, The Game, NLE Choppa and many others have been spotted wearing the pieces. As Death Row Records experiences a revival in popularity, King Ice, has developed a capsule of quality jerseys and hats, just in time for summer 2020.

The capsule features five basketball jerseys, two baseball jersey, and two hats. Multiple colorways include, red, blue, yellow, black, and white.

The jerseys are made in the USA with 100% polyester, which holds color and prevents shrinking. To prevent any peeling or fading each patch has been securely embroidered, rather than heat sealed, for long-lasting quality.
The baseball jerseys are finished with a full-button front and dropped tail, round-cut hem for a genuine fit.
The hats are made with 100% polyester, featuring a 3D gold metal Death Row Records logo button and raised embroidered print with a snapback closure.
The Jerseys will be priced at $150, while the hats will be $60.

Popular Demand and Eyelust’s Monica Lin checks in with Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson on Scoop B Radio. Press Play Below To Listen!

Monica Lin is the truth. A rising star, to say that she’s just an internet personality would be totally wrong. Better known to her Instagram and Twitter followers as Thundercup, the Taiwanese-American is a marketing director at Popular Demand, a Los Angeles-based clothing brand.

As an influencer, Lin has also worked on various collaborations with brands such as Puma, Nike and The Grammy Awards. Lin got the nickname, Thundercup when she started her streetwear blog called “Thundercup.”

Her site got much traction from Complex, MTV and more because of the exclusivity of articles and photos of notables like Young Money’s Lil’ Wayne and his TRUKFIT clothing line.

Additionally, Thundercup had her hands in internet radio. In 2015, she launched a radio show called The Plug on TheMixShow.com. The show which boasted a slew of guests like Lil Dicky was interactive and gave folks a look into the future of rising stars.

In 2018, Lin is still on the grind. Her and Kiona Stowers, a Popular Demand Colleague, launched, Eyelust, an LA based women’s eyewear brand.

Eyelust was founded with one goal: to help every woman build the ultimate eyewear wardrobe. Through Eyelust, every girl will be able to buy fashion-forward, designer quality sunglasses at an affordable price. As two working women, Monica and Kiona both struggled to find time to hunt for good, designer quality sunglasses that weren’t overpriced.

“People think that sunglasses are only for the summer or for the beach,” Monica ‘Thundercup’ Lin told me on Scoop B Radio.

“But you can really wear them year round and it kind of just tops off your outfit.”

The duo created Eyelust to serve as a one-stop shop for sunglasses that were on-trend and affordable enough for every girl to build a collection they love.“Kiona and I personally make sure that the quality and personally go through the check list and would we wear this,” said Thundercup.

“I think that is what sets it apart from other eyewear lines because either they are really big companies or they are just trying to sell fast fashion. We are personally curating everything and personally making sure that everything is up to our standards. At the same time, affordable I think that is what is going to help us in terms of reaching an audience and being able to be relatable to our customer.”

Eyelust’s Instagram, which started as a fashion inspiration page, has already garnered over 20,000 followers.

With the experience and network that the Eyelust team has, it’s a no brainer that they will be utilizing social media along with influencer and celebrity friends to help reach the goal in a short amount of time. The brand will also serve as a platform to help highlight other inspiring women.

In addition to the growing eyeglass line and running the show at Popular Demand, Thundercup is an inspiration to other Asian women. She says the feedback has been great on social media. “I get messages from young people in general but also specifically from young asian girls or students,” she said.

“And they want to know how I got into my career path and all that kind of stuff. I am happy to be able to provide a resource to these girls and to just young people, in general.”  

Added Lin:

“I really love diversity I went to international school when I was younger and I love learning about different cultures and trying new things and being able to share Asian culture and Taiwanese culture to the rest of the world is really awesome to me.”

Every fall, we see new trends that tend to take over fashion for an extended period of time. Chokers have been a part of fashion for thousands of years, however they have reached their peak again. This fall, chokers have sold out everywhere, and every female is wearing them. Earlier this year, chokers ran the runway at New York Fashion Week. Designers such as, Alexander Wang, and Oscar de la Renta gave chokers a new look that caused has frenzy.

Chokers have evolved over time; In the 1860’s, women with chokers were mostly identified as prostitutes, then later they took a royal turn. Now, women wear chokers as statement pieces to either dress up or dress down their daily look. Just 24 hours after Kanye West’s temporary “Pablo” pop-up shops opened across the globe, millions of fans have swarmed the streets of their cities searching for the coveted Yeezy tour merch. The Supermarket, based in NYC’s TriBeCa district, opened its doors featuring an array of Pablo items, including “Ultralight Beam” t-shirts, “Famous” sweaters alongside Pablo military jackets and bombers with Cali Thornhill DeWitt’s gothic script in Crusta orange.

Fans lined up outside, enduring the sticky NYC’s humidity/heat all patiently waiting for their opportunity to cop up. Some stood proudly in their previously purchased Yeezus tour merch (mostly t-shirts and hats) Others showed their allegiance by wearing affiliated brands such as Adidas, Virgil Abloh’s Off-White and of course YEEZY sneakers in all flavors. Some even brought folding chairs and camped out overnight, with coolers filled with ration, umbrellas and even camping tents. For die-hard Yeezy fans, it’s definitely worth the wait – even if the line wraps around an entire city block.

Only being available over the weekend, be sure to stop into the Pablo Pop-up if you got a few hours and bucks to blow on rare fashion. The address is below for those willing to take the trip.

A collective is something that is gathered to form something bigger, almost like art. Though art comes in many different forms for example: fashion, music, paintings, poetry and so on, today I bring you a collective who not only conjures up art but does so in a way that is visually appealing. Vintage Stereon is a Miami based clothing line that creates pieces that are stylish and trendy. Their brand is an ongoing process of consistency and deliverance that’s shown on a day-to-day basis through their subtle creations.

As shown above the stunning image of a beat up, ran down man brings a sense of endurance and persistence that prescribes us a dose of confidence and strength. Vintage Stereon is a strong force of energy within their grungy models and weird, “out of range” images that give off a scent of something different, an eery feeling of change and shift. Legendary skateboarder Stevie Williams announced his AYC apparel company’s new Skateboard Fresh collection featuring a limited edition Eazy E and Mike Miller collaboration. The new t-shirts feature an iconic image of NWA’s star Eazy E holding his infamous Natas skateboard in the parking lot of Ruthless Records, captured by photographer Mike Miller, a legend in his own right who captured some of the images that would come to define L.A. Hip-Hop. The new collection is now available online and in retailers.

Originally designed for professional skateboarder turned actor, Jason Lee, the Natas skateboard seen in the image is notorious for its symbols of violence, horror, and sex. “With the gun and that Natas board, this photo is some evil gangsta shit,” notes Stevie Williams (@steviewilliams). Lil Eazy E, the legend’s son, says seeing this iconic image reminds him how much he really misses his father. He says this photo being brought to life through AYC apparel makes him think of “his father’s legacy on a different viewing and how his impact goes far and beyond just Hip-Hop.”

“Back then skating and Hip-Hop did not mix,” recalls Mike Miller (@mikemillerphoto). The new collection is symbolic of the unprecedented impact Eazy E and NWA had on the skateboarding world. “The world doesn’t know, but us inner city Compton kids in the early age of life, enjoyed the sport on the skateboard my father gave me. I learned how to skate from him!” says Lil Eazy E. The huge, raw beats, underground punk rock ideology, and shared contempt for authority was what every skater never knew they were always waiting for. The echoes of that explosion still resonate in every corner of skateboard culture in their apparel, soundtracks and their outlook on the world.
