He grabbed a verse from Bay Area legend E-40 for the remix of his single, “Far Alone.” 40 Water takes a trip down memory lane, discussing his rough upbringing and eventual label signing. G-Eazy has built up quite a buzz for himself since we spoke with him last winter. He’s been on a nationwide tour, he’s dropped plenty of music, and now he’s gearing up for a new album this March. Prior to the release of that album, These Things Happen, the rapper will be embarking on a 36-city tour starting Februrary 21. For now, G-Eazy releases the follow-up single to “Far Alone,” and compliments it with a cool visual directed by Bobby Bruderle. “Almost Famous” finds G recreating some magazine covers, with his own little twist to each. G-Eazy has started the promo run for his upcoming album, These Things Happen. The first taste we have from the project is “Far Alone,” in which G takes things back to his childhood in Oakland.

This first single finds a more mature version of the rapper since his initial outing with 2012’s Must Be Nice. “This album serves as my proper introduction to the world, so the first story I have to tell is where I’m from.’” says G-Eazy. “This project marks the next chapter to me; a lot of reflection on everything that got me here, for better or for worse.” These Things Happens arrives in February. Prepare yourself.
