Future was slated as the special guest on SNL for March. 5. Earlier this week, pictures and short videos surfaced of The Weeknd and Future’s music video for “Low Life.” The music video previews led many to believe that the two would perform the track live on Saturday Night Live.

“Low Life” serves as the final track on Future’s ‘EVOL’ album (behind bonus track “Fly Sh*t Only”), released on February 6. Produced by Metro Boomin, the song captures the lowest of lows for these two high-living superstars.

Behind a live band, Future and The Weeknd traded their jarring lyrics to a live-studio audience. You can also catch Future performing his smash-single, “March Madness.” Future stepped on stage twice with two different outfits, showing off his sense of fashion and stage presence. Future’s stage presence has dramatically changed since he began his pop-up shows for ‘DS2‘ last year. Usually having DJ Esco behind him to assist in the energy, Future has been able to carry through a show by himself.

The audience was thrilled to see The Weeknd come out and perform alongside Future. The chemistry that the two possess in the studio carried the weight over onto the Saturday Night Live stage.

Jonah Hill and Future performed a version of “Jumpman,” keeping the crowd laughing. Jonah Hill was pretty solid with the lyrics for Drake’s portion, as Future helped him finish it out.

What’s next for Future? Most likely those three R&B albums that Ebro said Future has locked and ready to go.
