The couple welcomed their first daughter, Esmeralda Amada back in September 2014. According to Vanity Fair, the parents were able to keep the birth of their first child under wraps to, for almost seven months. They have been able to do the same this time ’round. Their second baby girl is said to be named Amada Lee Gosling. Previously in an interview with Violet Grey, the Hitch actress revealed that ‘Amada’ was the name of her grandmother, and meant ‘beloved’ in Spanish.

Gosling began dating Mendes towards the end of 2011. The two previously worked together on The Place Beyond The Pines and Drunk History Christmas. The actor, who starred in The Notebook will no doubt be delighted to be having another daughter. Last year, he spoke to The Sun about how he is pleased to have so many females in his life.

“We’re all about girl power. I have really strong female characters in my life.”

Towards the end of last year, there were numerous rumors flying around in the press suspecting problems between Mendes and Gosling. The birth of their new baby girl certainly squashes this. In January, Gosling spoke with The Hamilton Spectator about the importance that his family holds in his life.

“My biggest investment is my family…I’m with the person I’m supposed to be with – I’m not looking for anything else beyond Eva – and I feel very lucky that we have a beautiful, healthy daughter, who is an angel. That’s investment enough for me.”

The couple definitely did well to keep us all in the dark about their pregnancy, proving just how crucial their privacy is to them.
