Freddie Gibbs has released his video for his new track “Lay It Down” from his new album ESGN. Gibbs shows off his gangster roots in this new clip. The video contains scenes that seemingly were later turned into the cover art for the album (1:58) and the single featuring Problem, “One Eighty Seven” (1:55).

Freddie Gibbs’ highly anticipated new album, ESGN (Evil Seeds Grow Naturally), will be released on July 9. Above is ESGN‘s gritty, real-photo artwork–a departure from animated and semi-animated covers of Cold Day In Hell and BFK–finding Fred as the only one whose face goes uncensored. Though the concept is similar to a certain good kid’s cover, it says something entirely different: here, we see Freddie as the last one willing to go, controversially, on record (in both senses of the word), the last OG to the bone, no matter how many fakes he find himself surrounded by. With this album, Gangsta Gibbs is creating a brand for himself–he’s even started a label under the album’s name. Freddie Gibbs continues making waves and dropping bangers, and here he hits a recent peak with the official video of “Eastside Moonwalker” produced by GMF and directed by John Colombo. A particularly striking moment comes at the 1:40 mark where Freddie shouts a R.I.P. to a homie, then quickly retracts it–“he ain’t die he just a fuckboy”. This track will be featured on Gibbs‘ ESGN due out July 9th. In other news, Gangsta Gibbs will debut on Fuse’s new scripted series, The Hustle on Wednesday at 10PM central. Fred even recorded the show’s theme song. The first two episodes are already available for viewing here now.
