She’s wearing a skirt, no shirt, and doing a casual flip… What compelled Escif to make this mural, I do not know, but there it is. He painted this just this past week for the Nuart Festival in Norway.

The Fame Festival has been heating up in Grottaglie, Italy over the past three weeks as it is gearing up for its final showcase which will exhibit everything created over the duration of the festival: new original artworks, screenprints and ceramic pieces made with the collaboration of local artisians. Funded by Studiocromie, a one-man screenprinting studio, the Fame Festival marks the meeting of a dozen international artists with the intention of giving back to the town, and building it the name it deserves.

Recently, Spanish artist Escif has made some awesome contributions to the festival, and we’re especially digging his most recent piece. The “Applause Please” mural can be seen on the Stadium’s wall, and we can really get behind this one because let’s be real, who doesn’t want some applause every now and then. The Bien Urbain Festival is well underway in Besançon, France with the intention of making people question the use of public space: How do we enjoy public space? Where is the place for art when grey walls and advertisements are everywhere? The festival is bringing out some of the most influential urban artists worldwide, including, among others, Escif, Moneyless, Nelio, Ox and San.

Also taking part in the Bien Urbain Festival is legendary Spanish artist Sam3, and he’s managed to catch our eye after completing two stunning pieces this week. Sam3’s newest murals are mono-color as in the first he manages to paint with only black, and in the second, only white. Additionally, the technique implemented is quite unique as Sam3 paints only the background as an outline, allowing  the original wall to be the focus of the final image. Escif has pulled together several murals for the NHH x Nuart Event “Capitalism.” The first piece went up last week on September 1st. The piece, shown above, spans across two sides of a building and is titled “Economic Values.” It also features the terms “Entropic Growth.”

This next piece is also in Bergen, Norway for “Capitalism.” Titled “Cafelatism“, it was completed just today.

Once more, Phlegm is using his artwork to express his love of aquatic vessels, and how fitting it is that this mural was painted on an island!

The above piece was painted on São Miguel island in Azores, Portugal as part of the Walk & Talk Festival, where a total of 30 artists, including Vhils and Escif, will show off their work. The mural is massive and incredibly detailed, yet Phlegm was able to complete it in only 4 days. Incredible.

In other news, Phlegm just completed his book, The Illuminated Alphabet, which popped in stores on August 17th. To have completed both of these projects is truly an amazing feat.

Just a few weeks after being spotted in Italy with Ericailcane, Blu is off in Valencia, Spain with Escif completing his latest street masterpiece. Escif took care of the falling car, while Blu’s piece is a bit more controversial. It seems to be a Moses-like character bringing down the ten commandments. However, the man’s beard is comprised of snakes, and the commandments feature currency rather than wise words.  Pics after the jump.
