With a packed feature list including Elzhi, Fashawn, Oddisee, Chuuwee, Brother Ali, Ras Kass, and more, “The Feeling Of Flying” demonstrates the power of the pen while implementing various instrumentation, scratching, and positioning the focus on crafting lasting records that will ultimately benefit the culture. This project is a consciously soulful offering where standout cuts like “Kiss The Ring,” When I Stopped Looking,” and “5 Fingers Of Fresh” act a medium that connects music’s digital age with backpack sensibilities and originality. Markis Precise and “The Feeling of Flying” reminds us of one thing; What Hip-Hop is supposed to feel like.

Detroit’s staple lyricists Elzhi (formerly Slum Village) and Phat Kat have linked with Flip to bring you hip-hop in its purest form on “Without Warning.” Little introduction is needed for such a record, sealed with a dope visual by Mad Hiaz.

On February 17th Flip is set to release his long-awaited producer compilation album Reflections via Ill Adrenaline Records. On it He links up with some United States’ heavyweights, blessing the masses with featured emcees that will include Guilty Simpson, and Killah Priest along with others like Kev Brown, Tragic Allies and more. Mark your calendar folks: February 17th Reflections will be available digitally and in almost every physical form.

As stated previously, Flip is a hip-hop producer based out of Austria with a background of 20+ years in the game. His sound is heavily reminiscent of Hip-Hop’s golden era, the boom-bap years. Yes his production is raw, gritty and pure hip-hop, but it’s not stuck in a time machine by any means. Flip is not afraid to experiment and incorporate some synthesizer-heavy or non-formulaic layouts when he’s building beats. All these elements will definitely be present on Reflections.

It’s been a little while since we heard from Signif. At last check, we were chopping it up with her about jazz, her travels in France and the creative process for her new album, Friction. Just over a year later and the album is nearly ready to drop. Presales have already started and you can head over to Signif’s Bandcamp page to get your order in today. As a special bonus, you’ll get an exclusive download of four songs off the album. There’s even a cassette version available for any heads who may be interested in that.

One of those songs is the JBM Beatz-produced “Play 2 Win,” which features Elzhi and drops today. Check out the track below and let us know what you think of it.
Here is one of the first tastes of what we can expect in the form of “Hookless” featuring Mahd.
