Hosted by Joel McHale at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, the 43rd Annual People’s Choice Awards turned out to be an epic night of sorts for some of Hollywood’s biggest and brightest stars. Ellen Degeneres made history Wednesday night when she was nominated for three awards including favorite talk-show host, favorite animated voice for Finding Dory and favorite comedic collaboration with Britney Spears for their “Mall Mischief” segment and won in all three categories. To date, Degeneres has accepted a total of 20 People Choice Awards; the most of any celebrity. She later took to twitter to tweet her gratitude of thanks.

Other winner of the night included: Kevin Hart for favorite comedic actor, Johnny Depp who accepted an award for favorite movie icon, Tyler Perry whom accepted an award for favorite humanitarian, in which he reminded the audience of the importance of helping others. Fifth Harmony may be one girl down but that didn’t slow the group down from putting on a show stopping performance on Wednesday night, the group performed their single “Work from Home” and also nabbed the favorite group award again for the second year in a row. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably heard about Gospel singer Kim Burrell and her recent “sermon” on homosexuals. If you haven’t, here’s an excerpt:

Everybody in this room who’s filled with the homosexual spirit, pray to God to free you. You play with it! What does that mean? You’ll die from it. You’ll die! You play with it in God’s house in 2017, you’ll die from it.

You all came here to hear my cause? I came to tell you about sin…that perverted homosexual spirit, and the spirit of delusion and confusion. It has deceived many many men and women. It has caused a strain on the body of Christ and the homosexual spirit…

You cannot get instruction from God’s holiness with that much perversion. You as a man, you open your mouth and take a man’s penis in your face, you are perverted…you are a woman and will shake your face in another woman’s breast, you are perverted!

This is a good time to also mention that Burrell was a major collaborator alongside Pharrell Williams for the soundtrack to Hidden Figures. Unsurprisingly, Pharrell distanced himself from Burrell’s comments, as did Hidden Figures actress (and equally-talented artist) Janelle Monáe. In addition, Burrell — who also recently saw her radio show cancelled — was removed from a now-recent episode of Ellen DeGeneres‘ highly-rated talk show, where she was to perform alongside Pharrell. Instead, Pharrell appeared solo to perform ‘Runnin’; as expected, he also spoke on Burrell’s comments:

There’s no space, there’s no room for any kind of prejudice in 2017 and moving on… [Burrell]’s a fantastic singer, I love her, just like I love everybody else, and we all got to get used to that – we all have to get used to everyone’s differences and understand that this is a big, gigantic, beautiful, colorful world, and it only works with inclusion and empathy.

They say in life that ‘Third times a Charm’ – well in Dory’s case she didn’t need to get to third base to prove that she’s a true CHARMER! as Finding Dory has grossed over $136.2 million in its first weekend opening, now that’s something to swim about.

Finding Dory is the sequel to Disney Pixar’s Finding Nemo which graced the box office in 2003 grossing over $70.3 million in its first weekend. Disney has definitely made a big comeback with the sequel as fans rallied in huge numbers to the movies to show their support.

According to Fox Business, Finding Dory (voiced by Ellen Degeneres) is a story about a forgetful fish whom sets off to reunite with her parents. Other actors include Albert Brooks whom played the Marlin in Finding Nemo, Diane Keaton and Idris Elba.

Finding Dory exceeded Disney Pixar’s last movie The Good Dinosaur which grossed $123 million in its total run.

Dave Hollis, Disney’s Executive Vice President of Distribution stated that Finding Dory attracted a more diverse mix of moviegoers than most of the other films Pixar has produced, mainly because it has been 13 years since Nemo hit the screen. Most kids that watched it during that time are now adults with children of their own. Whilst Finding Dory may be new to the younger generation, going to the movies, seeing that Nemo has gotten older and has transformed over the years into adulthood is something that adults can relate to.

Finding Dory will have one more weekend to continue to rack in good numbers as Disney Pixar’s The BFG (Big Friendly Giant) will hit the movie screens on July 1st while the cute feature The Secret Life of Pets will hit the screen on July 8th. And if those new additions will be anything like Dory, Disney Pixar will be swimming all the way to the bank.

Earlier today on Ellen, Kanye West showed up, showed out, and “put some dope s**t” on day time television. The known rapper turned fashion designer– also known for his outbursts regardless of the platform– gave the audience something new for a change. A positive rant.

His form and stature was similar to all the rest of his rants. A lot of dramatic pauses, sudden outbursts, and awkward body motions. But this is exactly what makes Kanye, Kanye. Ellen Degeneres was shown throughout the rant looking a tad uncomfortable while watching West twitch around the stage. However, one can say his public speaking has gotten better through the years, referring to his, “George Bush Doesn’t Care About Black People” spiel during the wake of Katrina in 2005.

As the rant went on, one can tell that West is starting to accept and understand himself more and only wants the public to as well. Though the Kanye talking about Kanye is omnipresent throughout the 8 minute rant, it is clear that Kanye does love Kanye as he speaks on how he was “raised for greatness.” Mentioning his mother and father’s accomplishments and hardships, his own accomplishments, and a brief ode to the hip-hop and the artists he grew up on shows Kanye’s true colors.

The audience can only agree with him as he speaks about wanting to make a difference and impact the world in a great way. As a fan, I personally believe he already has. With his “No Regrets” attitude and seemingly philanthropic attitude one can only hope he means what he says. Through fashion and music Kanye has truly made a name for himself in the art world and will continue to. Whether or not he gets that 53 thousand dollars he’s called out Mark Zuckerberg for TWICE now, I believe Kanye can better the planet.

“They never wanted me on The Ellen Show, and look at me, I’m on! And this the number one show. Mama, I made it!”

Some only know DJ Khaled as hyping the tracks with “DJ KHALED!” or “WE TAKING OVER!” without even spitting a verse. But of course when Ellen Degeneres asked Khaled what was it exactly that he did (career wise), Khaled made sure to silence those that have been asking the same question for quite some time now.

“Well, you know, I’m a music mogul, I’m a producer, I’m a DJ, I’m an executive, I’m a CEO and I’m an artist. I put anthems out every year for the last ten years. I put some of the biggest anthems out, No. 1 records like “I’m on One,” “All I Do Is Win.” You know what I’m saying? The list goes on. “Hold You Down.” I’ve done records with Jay Z. By the way, Jay Z is my manager now. I am like the hip-hop Quincy Jones, but I’m a CEO, too. I’m an entrepreneur, I’m a young mogul. I’m blessed.”

The interview continued with Ellen asking who “they” is, Khaled took it upon himself to explain it in further detail.

“Please Ellen, stay away from them. Stay away from ‘they,'” the young mogul advised her. “‘They’ is the person that told you you would never have The Ellen Show. They is that one person in the room when you get a raise, and that one person in the corner is like, “Man, I hate that person.” ‘They’ are the people that don’t believe in you, that say that you won’t succeed. So we stay away from ‘they.'”

On Thursday’s The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the talk show host enlisted Adele, the Grammy winner to help carry out one of her epic pranks. As is typical, Adele was hooked up with an ear piece, while Ellen DeGeneres fed her lines during the entire exchange.The singer stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Thursday and ended up pulling a hidden camera prank on some unsuspecting workers at Jamba Juice. Adele walked into the shop while Ellen secretly told her what to say through an earpiece. In addition to yelling “Hello from the outside,” Adele confuses everyone with her weird habits and outrageous orders.

“One small cup but a large,” she begins her order, confusing everyone behind the counter before letting them know about the Jamba Juice equivalent in Britain called Swishy Chug — which Ellen makes up on the spot, of course — and their famous drink comprised of beets and potatoes.

Next, the singer takes out a pair of scissors, Ellen had previously planted in her purse. “Can I chop some off?” she asks, pointing at the wheatgrass on display before snipping off a handful. “It’s really good actually,” she says, while Ellen (and the world) laugh on the other end.

When it came time to pay for her juice order — after, at one point, pulling out a mini bottle of Disaronno from her purse for a quick swig! — Adele dumps everything out of her purse on the counter before asking the cashier: “Where is my money? I need to pay for this, right? I’m a celebrity. Do I have to pay?” Check both videos of the global super, Adele, sharing laughs with Ellen.

We all know that politicians will do pretty much anything to get the vote, it was only a matter of time before one of them hit us with the “Hotline Bling”, but who could have guessed it would’ve been Senator Bernie Sanders to take the first leap?

The Democratic presidential candidate showcased his impressive dance moves in his faux presidential ad campaign during The Ellen DeGeneres Show yesterday, as he unashamedly bopped and grooved to Drake’s hit single.

As the jovial visuals came to an end, Ellen threw out a proposal to Hillary Clinton, “All right. Hillary, it’s your move.” Do you think she’ll be up for the challenge? If Sanders is attempting to win over the younger voters, then we’re guessing that this is definitely a two-step in the right direction! Watch the video below.
