If 2015 was the year that The Internet walked to the edge of the cliff, 2016 is the year the West Coast band will jump off it and into the ears of more fans than they already have. While it may seem hard to believe, prior to last night’s appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, The Internet had never before performed on national TV. Blessing fans with a live version of “Under Control”, the band’s television debut was everything we’d hoped for.

Syd and company also blessed us with some new music, digging back into their highly praised third album, Ego Death album to give us the ever so funky, “Famous”, which is revealed to be a bonus cut.

Prior to announcing the tour Matt Martians and Syd Tha Kyd of The Internet stopped by Mass Appeal to speak on a couple things in under five minutes.  The two highly talented members broke down why the separation of Odd Future was needed as well as why they decided to put Tyler The Creator on Ego Death, and even spoke on their tactics when it comes to getting a women’s attention and much much more. Although most of us are still trying to wrap our finger around the “breakup” of OF and their movement, the interview may bring you just a little bit of closure on the situation. Watch it below.

The Internet is back with feel good music for the summer! The Odd Future (in which we heavily hope isn’t permanently broken up) extension dropped their Ego Death album today, and just like their previous album Feel Good,  their features and production are very limited but fitting. On this album, you can look forward to witnessing poppington artists like Janelle Monae, Tyler, The Creator, ROC Nation’s Vic Mensa, James Fauntleroy, and fire ass production from KAYTRANDA (who has worked with artists like GoldLink to Mick Jenkins) and Jimmy Douglass. 

Just based off the contributions to this album, it’s safe to say that “Ego Death” will be more youthful and a more upbeat project than “Feel Good”. Since we’re still holding our breath for Frank Ocean to release his follow-up to Channel Orange, there’s no reason to not bump Syd Tha Kyd’s & Matt Martians’ latest greatness. You can easily find it here on Spotify, or purchase through iTunes. Buy it.
