The passing of Sean Price hurt the entire hip-hop community but there is one thing that will always live on and that is his legacy and work. To add to everything he accomplished in life is a new mixtape dropping August 21st, entitled, Songs In The Key Of Price. To give a taste of what is to come from the tape is the theatrical “Planet Apes” produced by PF Cuttin. Bundle packages of Songs In the Key Of Price are available now and will include a CD + digital MP3 download, Sean Price ‘Key’ bottle opener, P! socks, Songs In The Key of Price T-shirt and RIP! Statik Selektah released his final album, “Lucky 7,” last week and beforehand he dropped a few singles off the album to prepare everyone for the release. Now, he has given us the first video from the project with the track, “Murder Game” featuring Young M.A, Smif N Wessun and Buckshot. Each rapper murders the track over Statik’s bass hitting production. Check it out below.

The above cover was JUST released by Black Rob as his album artwork. The cover came along with a tracklist for the LP that is all set to hit stores on July 26th. Game Tested, Street Approved is Rob’s debut with the Duck Down Music label.

Most of the songs on this album are dark. I mean, the first single was “Can’t Make it in New York.” I chose one of the more optimist songs to feature in this post. It’s titled “Celebration.” Check it out. Maybe the former Bad Boy signee does have some hope…

With Random Axe (Sean Price‘s supergroup along with Black Milk and Guilty Simpson) dropping their debut album on June 14 (read an album preview here)—and Price’s long-awaited Mic Tyson album still on the way—we got down with Ruck of Heltah Skeltah to talk about what we feel are his 25 most essential songs. The Boot Camp Clik veteran talks about the chip he had on his shoulder while recording Jesus Price Supastar, how he used to sell drugs and hustle Motorola two-ways, and why he regrets the video for “Everything Is Heltah Skeltah.” Beyond that, he also recalls growing up with a mother who was both a drug addict and a numbers runner, how he took shrooms before recording “Onion Head,” and how he doesn’t want to be known as the brokest rapper you know anymore. The first album from the Duck Down Music supergroup Random Axe drops today. Two years removed from their first song together, the underground trio made up of Sean Price, Black Milk, and Guilty Simpson are ready to unleash a full album worth of  fire .

Guilty Simpson describes the group as “two families merging to make incredible Hip Hop records.”  Black Milk, who produced the entire album explained, “[Random Axe] represents the new formula for future hip hop albums, as artists form super groups. Guilty Simpson, Sean P and I have individual vibes, delivery, flow and voices, but the chemistry works. So far everything in the studio has felt natural.”
