Even though some might be aware of the teaser videos Meek Mill uploaded to his Instagram last week, a few days ago fans finally got the first real glimpse into what Meek’s cooking up for 2015. With all this recent activity it wouldn’t at all be surprising to see Dreams Worth More Than Money dropping by late January to mid February, although the official album roll-out has yet to begin. Courtesy of DJ Funkmaster Flex and DreamChasers, “Ice Cream” and “The Get Back Freestyle” hit the web Friday night and were greeted with open arms. Meek’s been out of the game for a little longer than he hoped and with this type of attention from just two tracks, it really shows how happy the Hip-Hop community is to have him back in the studio.

“Ice Cream” is originally a Wu-Tang Clan classic, however Meek jumps on the beat to deliver his own branding. This track is gritty, aggressive and full of punchlines which is an area of rapping that Meek has certainly improved on since his last album. This is actually a nice joint as Meek isn’t as well known for hopping on classic or retro beats yet killed it regardless. Listen below.

After a throwback to Wu-Tang Clan, “The Get Back Freestyle” was the second track released Friday night and is definitely what fans are more used to from the Philly superstar. It’s catchy, with chimes and bells sitting innocently atop simple but dangerous sounding synths and bass. Unfortunately, this heater probably won’t make it on the official track list for his upcoming album. Even though this may be a throwaway track, the Hip-Hop community should still be excited. Meek Mill battles it out in the middle of the desert in his new video for “I Don’t Know,” directed by Eif Rivera. Meek and his crew reign havoc in an attempt to win his love back, played by his Dreamchasers artist Paloma Ford. Meek brings the bikes to the desert to help rescue his girl in the isolated video. The track is the lead single off Meek’s upcoming sophomore album Dreams Worth More Than Money. Check out the video below:

Meek, who released his debut album Dreams and Nightmares last October, is gearing up to release his third Dreamchasers mixtape soon. The MC will also be performing at the second Hip-Hop Inaugural Ball presented by Hip-Hop Summit Action Network and Philanthropik this Sunday at The Harman Center for The Arts in Washington DC.

The “Untouchable Maybach Empire” has sponsored a continuation of Meek Mill’s Dreamchasers mixtape series with another much anticipated compilation. Meek Mill leaked the cover art for third installment of his Dreamchaser’s project via Instagram, and one can see that on Dreamchasers 3, the Philly Emcee continues to stick religiously to the smoky, sea-foam green album art made famous on the previous tapes. There is still no release date set for Dreamchasers 3, but expect it to drop later this year.

Dreamchasers 3 will feature, like its predecessors, heavy involvement of Meek production standby Jahlil Beats, according to interviews with the recent Roc Nation signee himself. The rapper has also dropped the name of J.Cole as a collaborator on the record; at his listening session in New York for Dreams & Nightmares, he also played a song that sounded like a remix of Juvenile’s “Ha” that may end up on the tape as well.

Philadelphia, PA native Meek Mill, is much more than just “The Mixtape Champ Of The Streets.” He’s one of the current saviors of hardcore street rap music. Meek gained his street buzz with his series of mixtapes including the many editions of The Real Me, Flamers and Dreamchasers. He gained his popularity, though, with appearances off his record label’s 2011 debut collaboration album, Maybach Music Group – Self Made Vol. 1. The Maybach Music Group founder Rick Ross featured album singles, “Tupac Back” and “Ima Boss”, which established Meek Mill‘s name as hip hop’s next up and coming superstar from the east coast. This puts Meek alongside Dr. Dre‘s Aftermath Records signee Kendrick Lamar from the west coast. To keep the momentum going,  Meek Mill kept the summer hot with the release of his album’s first and second singles, “Amen” and “Burn.” Now Meek returns with his third single titled, “Young & Gettin’ It”, from his debut upcoming album titled Dreams & Nightmares. The Jahlil Beatz produced track features Kirko Bangz, and is a braggadocious song about a young man that’s all about handling his business, while getting money to enjoy the finer things in life. So, the next time, you think about Philly, don’t think about “The City Of Brotherly Love”, “The Home Of Cheesesteaks” or “The Home Of Soul Legends.” Think about some of the dopest emcees (in the rap game), Beans (Beanie Sigel), Cass (Cassidy) and Meek (Meek Mill).
