As a writer at RESPECT. Magazine, I thrive on highlighting things that really have my interest while being passionate about my opinion on different topics (also, informing the readers/listeners/viewers). When I got the chance to present this exclusive video to our loyal audience, it became an honor: “T-Man On The Beat” is a high energetic song that gives us “Staright Barz.”

Nobody does it like the 212, and with that said, Lower Eastside’s Downtown Dolla and Hefe Huncho bring the fire with single, produced by upcoming London beatmaker T-Man…the video production can be credited to Altrac Productions. Downtown Dolla and Hefe Huncho are two highly talented artists, making noise around the Manhattan area musically — together, these two seem to be a go-to dynamic duo.

New York City is the Mecca of Hip-Hop, period. With all respect to cities like Atlanta, Chicago and L.A., nobody does Rap quite like The Big Apple. It’s why after so many years, the genre anoints Brooklynites Jay-Z and The Notorious B.I.G. as it’s marquee wordsmiths. Granted, the city has lost some of its lust since Jigga’s last album but you can’t deny the new generation’s wave of talent coming in. From Joey Bada$$ to Young MA, all the way to A$AP Mob and Dave East – the city is in good hands. Looking to join the ranks of the boroughs’ elite is PYP Records signee, Downtown Dolla — who’s an affiliate of Dave East — with his new visual for, “Anotha One.”

Taking the infamous DJ Khaled adlib and flipping it into a tale about moving weight and making it out is no small task. Throughout the video, Dolla rides around the lower East-side of New York City, looking for a way to pass the time, effectively. Dolla’s nostalgic flow and ability to seamlessly swtich cadences standout as the highlights of the video.

Get to know a fresh up and coming artist, HEFE coming out of Downtown Manhattan. HEFE, along with his family Swoop Gang, brings us an exclusive look into to his life with his first video “Potential.”

This video is shot by Off Records Productions and edited by Jordan Clark. “Potential”‘s production gives off a high energy vibe followed by HEFE’s true life stories out of Manhattan’s Baruch Projects. Although this Haitian artist has yet to release a full project he is building a following and by the looks of it, HEFE is going to make a breakout in 2017 showcasing more of his talent like similar artists from his area such as Downtown Dion and Downtown Dolla.  Most of all keep an eye out for this new talented artist.
