Today, RESPECT. is premiering a new video from Brooklyn based hip-hop group Constant Deviants, who drop a dope new live freestyle.

A year after the critically acclaimed Avant Garde, the highly-regarded underground east coast duo return with a new concept album Omerta releasing on June 28th.

Their ever-expanding Six2Six label have now incorporated film production as part of their creative enterprises and MC M.I. will appear with Treach (Naughty by Nature), Selena Johnson and Chief Rocker Busy Bee in a new movie set for release later in the year.

Until then, enjoy this freestyle that is made to look as effortless as talking. The rhythm of the flow goes flawlessly over the beat and includes many internal rhymes in what seems like much more than two-minutes worth of bars. Definitely worth it to check out for fans of the group and anyone who likes lyricism. The scratching adds a really raw effect onto the track that keeps their old school vibe going. Bars are still around and it’s good to see people still rapping live while DJs spin records.

The video is short but sweet, and hopefully they continue bringing quality lyrics over their raw underground feel.

The group released their single “So Underrated” recently, and due to the reception of last year’s 3Styles’ video series, they have filmed a further set of live freestyles for the new Tre Volte trilogy.  The first episode is Hard on these Streets.

For the sake of hip-hop culture, the upcoming film, DOPE is looking like a summer smash. With the recent confirmation that musical genius Pharrell Williams will have his hands all over it, the same can be said about the movie’s accompanying soundtrack.

Check out “Don’t Get Deleted”, a new video from Awreeoh, who isn’t a real band, but a band nonetheless, consisting of DOPE’s main characters.

As we get closer to the June 19th release of the critically acclaimed, Sundance Film Festival fan favorite, DOPE, we get a better sense of what to expect with the release of it’s red band trailer. The movie, which is set in the hood of Los Angeles, follows Malcolm (Shameik Moore) as he navigates through the concrete jungle and eventually gets a chance invite to a live underground party that has life-changing potential.

The all-star cast includes Shameik Moore, A$AP Rocky, Tony Revolori,Chanel Iman, Kimberly Elise, Quincy, Zoë Kravitz and more. Not to mention, DOPE was also executive produced by Pharrell Williams. So, you know it’s got to live up to it’s title. Check out the trailer below.

With a new movie and album coming out, Harlem rapper A$AP Rocky has stepped back into the forefront contrary to his previously MIA status. At a recent Tribeca Film Festival event, the A$AP artist took part in the Elliot Wilson-hosted #CRWN series. Touching on various topics, Rocky talked about getting permission from Mos Def for his newest alias, where he gets his fake gold chains, and more. Towards the end of the interview, the rapper even brought up fellow A$AP Mob members A$AP Nast and A$AP Twelvy on stage to speak on the passing of A$AP Yams. The Lord Pretty Flacko Jodye 2 artist releases his new album, A.L.L.A (At.Long.Last.A$AP) May 12th.
