Make no mistake, G Herbo definitely started something with his freestyle over Three 6 Mafia‘s classic “Who Run It” instrumental, to the point where A$AP Rocky and even one of the song’s creators — Juicy J — had to join in. Now, not only did Lil Uzi Vert (who has a response to Rich The Kid), Chief Keef and Young M.A decide to participate, but so did former Three 6 members and affiliates — including the legendary DJ Paul. Hip-Hop fan favorite and “All Gold Everything” star Trinidad James hosted his 2^nd Annual Camp James Celebrity Basketball Game and Football Camp at Crenshaw High School. The Atlanta-bred artist also collected hundreds of donated new and used shoes in a sneaker drive to benefit local families in need. Celebrities in attendance included Wiz Khalifa, Nipsey Hussle, Three 6 Mafia’s DJ Paul, Mally Mall, Ray J, YFN Lucci and more, as well as celebrity basketball players Problem and Safaree, and team coaches Steve Lobel and Community Activist Big U. L.A.’s REAL 92.3 DJ Hed along with DJ Looney kept the crowd grooving with today’s hottest music.

In addition to the celebrity basketball game and sneaker drive, over 100 gift bags were given to the youth in attendance, including pairs of Jordan’s and goodies from sponsors Shoe Palace, Jason Mark, Under Armour, Feed the Homeless LA and Ray J’s Skoot-E Bike.

“It feels amazing to be able to do it again. I can be honest and tell you it’s not as easy the second time as I thought it would be, but I’m very thankful to the people who continue to help me this year again like Crenshaw’s Big U, Michael Henley (Lil U) and their entire family, Echo Hattix’s PR team, Shoe Palace Sneakers and Jason Markk shoe cleaner,” says James. “Last but not least, I’m very thankful to the Crenshaw community. Nothing would matter without their presence.”

It’s been a while since 2 Chainz gave away free music, and we’re here for it. Freebase is his latest EP which should hold us off while he works on the third installment of his B.O.A.T.S. series. The Atlanta rapper sticks to his usual winning format: comical metaphors over a few dope beats. The seven track mixtape features guest appearances from Lil Boosie, A$AP Rocky, Rick Ross, and Ty Dolla $ign. Production is handled by Mike Will Made It, Metro Boomin, Young Chop, and DJ Paul just to name a few. Stream below.

But back to the topic, Yela delivers, using a notably staccato flow to punctuate his shouts and keep his voice atop the instrumental’s tinny percussions. Although Yelawolf is well-known for rapping fast, he’s just as capable of holding back, jabbing at the track instead of pummeling it. Perhaps that will be his approach to Black Fall. A3C is quickly becoming one of rap’s most invigorating and important music festivals. We have never covered A3c, but we have been told of its importance by industry insiders as well as rappers themselves. This year we still were unable to send someone to cover it in its entirety – events, conversations, complications, consequences – but we were able to get a photographer to capture some of the majest of the event.
