DJ Omega is an LA based DJ born and raised in Philadelphia area. He’s worked with music & entertainment heavyweights such as Kanye West, Wale, Lil Dicky, Amy Winehouse, Kevin Hart and Jerry Seinfeld. He has also DJ’d professional sports clients range from the Philadelphia Eagles Training Camp & home games, 76ers Production & In-Game Sound Design, and Los Angeles Rams Holiday Parties (2018-19), and NBC’s “World Of Dance” Premiere (2019). He has also been the go-to DJ for Topaz Jones. When not on the road Omega has consulted on Wale’s Wow..That’s Crazy & The Album About Nothing.

RESPECT.: Where you from?
DJ Omega: Philadelphia

RESPECT.: How’d you first fall in love with hip-hop?

DJ Omega: Hip hop has always been in my life but the first record I bought was Let me Clear My Throat by DJ Kool.

RESPECT.: Who are your DJ influences?

DJ Omega: From a crowd rocking perspective Kid Capri, Fat Man Scoop, DJ Kool & Jazzy Jeff, from a production perspective Khaled, Diplo, Girltalk & Kaytranada.

RESPECT.: What made you want to pursue being a DJ?

DJ Omega: My aunt and cousin were DJ’s growing up. Then after I experienced my own set after that I was hooked.

RESPECT.: What’s your biggest show?

DJ Omega: Coachella…insane!

RESPECT.: You were one of Wale’s Day 1 supporters in the last decade and congrats to the upcoming 10th anniversary of More About Nothing, how did it come about and are you pleased with the influence in the culture?
DJ Omega: More About Nothing was special. At the time, Wale was between labels and we wanted to release something for the people to enjoy while on the road. We did that whole project from the muscle. Happy that it’s standing the test of time.

RESPECT.: How have you been busy with the Quaratine over the last couple months?
DJ Omega: Aside from cleaning my kitchen for the millionth time lol?! I’ve been using this time to cook up and reset my mental.

RESPECT.: How have you kept things fun as a DJ and kept people in spirit through these times?

DJ Omega: To keep the engagement with my friends during this time i’ve been going live via Instagram @omegaisdope . It’s been cool to connect with everyone while still practicing social distancing.

RESPECT.: What are you currently working on for the upcoming year?

DJ Omega: While in quarantine I’ve been working on production and will be releasing some music in the summer.

RESPECT.: What advice do you have for upcoming A&Rs and artists?

DJ Omega: Build your capital, ain’t nothing move but the money.

RESPECT.: What does RESPECT. mean to you?

DJ Omega: Always earned…Never Given.

DJ Omega has been a name in the music industry for well over a decade. Known for his contribution in the breakthrough of Wale’s career and the collaborative project More About Nothing mixtape in which he made a cameo as well as executive produced the project in 2011. DJ Omega returns with his latest single “Can’t Wait”. “Can’t Wait” is a soulful house ode to all the 90’s R&B vibes with a uptempo best that shows its evolution throughout this generation.

He is currently working on his upcoming EP with “Can’t Wait” being the first single on the project that is sure to get the crowd intune.
