Being an older MC that fell in love with the culture during the golden era, I’ve come to grips that the game has changed. The way artists expand their reach and connect with more fans has evolved. One major change has been the Internet and hiphop blogs play a huge role in that evolution. As an indie artist, I’ve learned the hard way in how I should submit my music to blogs & websites. Some of that knowledge came from trial & error but a lot of that knowledge came from my friend Praverb The Wyse. So in the spirit of keeping his legacy alive, I wanted to drop some knowledge for other up & coming MCs like he dropped knowledge on me!

Believing In Forever is a motivational speech to young MCs coming into the game. In this instant gratification generation that often forgets it’s linage and those that laid the path before them, this album is a reminder to them that integrity wins in the end. The theme of this album goes beyond the scope of just a rapper’s plight. We all often struggle between our passion and getting paid, what we love and making a living, our purpose and our priorities. Just trying to balance it all out. But at the end of the day if you stay true to your culture, your craft, your purpose, and give your all you WIN regardless of the outcome. This album is about not investing in things that are temporary but rather believing in forever.

Devine Carama picks up where “Keepers of the Boom Bap” left off on his final leak off Believing in Forever. While Carama may be more inclined to give us some food for thought in the form of more melodic cuts, sometimes its nice to just hear bars. Doing away with the “train of thought” style of rapping that has become popular in the genre, the Kentucky rhymer stays in pocket, switching up a few different flows. Check it out below.
