Debonair Brown stormed onto the scene with his “Do You Have Time?” single and now the rising star returns with a new visual titled “Embrace It” to keep his momentum going. To accommodate the Brown’s new video, he recently spoke to us for a exclusive Q&A, tackling many topics fans want answers to; including his beginnings, his style and sound, dream collaborations, staying fit and much more. Tell our readers who you are and where you represent?

I am Debonair Brown, I represent the culture of Hip Hop from a small city called Albany. I am a lyricist ready to push the culture forward where true talent reigns over gimmicks.

How did you get into Hip-Hop?

At the age of 7 I was introduced to hip hop by guys in the neighborhood that i grew up with. I was intrigued by their word play and the camaraderie of the individuals involved.

How do you feel about releasing your first album?

I am very excited about releasing this project, where it can go, and the people my music is touching.

What does “Things Happen” mean to you?

Time and effort was placed whole heartedly in this project with my team. “Things Happen” is special to me because I set out to release it a year ago and I am a very appreciative of the support I have received.

Do you feel that a woman has to get on your level as suggested in “Embrace It”?

Yes and no, but it is compromise.

What kind of time are you asking for in your debut single “Do You have Time”?

Anything that is worth having and not wasted.

How would describe your style as a man and a poet?

I am a very straight forward and articulate with my delivery as a poet and a man.

Who is your dream feature?

Good question.. I would have to say its between Nas and J. Cole

What pro-active measures do you take to stay fit?

I stay active by creating a specific regime and implementing it into my every day life.

Do you have any other business ventures or ambitions you’d like to come out of having a music career?

Branding myself and my team. Creating avenues for other talented artists that may be overlooked.

What is your preference for streaming or buying your music?

I don’t have a preference. I support all platforms who represent me and my music in a positive light.

Any last thoughts you’d like to drop?

Always believe in yourself- make a believer out of those who don’t and continue to hold the ones who do close to you.

Debonair Brown Releases New Music Video “Do You Have Time?”

Rising rapper and lyricist Debonair Brown delivers the visuals for his latest single “Do You Have Time.” The record is set to appear on Brown’s forthcoming, debut album titled “Things Happen.” Over some cinematic production, the polished emcee laces the storyline by having an in-depth conversation with a woman that has caught his attention. He explains his attraction to her mentally and physically — and asks if she has time for him. In the second verse he talks about the type of woman the average man chases and concludes that he is not the typical man and requires more, including her “time.”
