The human race has evolved and David Haller is at the forefront of the war on mutants.

Legion, based on the Marvel Comics by Chris Claremont and Bill Sienkiewicz, is the story of David Haller (Dan Stevens) – a troubled young man who may be more than human. According to FX, the story will follow David who was diagnosed as schizophrenic as a child and has been in and out of psychiatric hospitals for years. Now in his early 30s and institutionalized once again, David loses himself in the rhythm of the structured regimen of life in the hospital: breakfast, lunch, dinner, therapy, medications, sleep. David’s routine is shaken up with the arrival of a beautiful and troubled new patient named Syd (Rachel Keller). Inexplicably drawn to one another, David and Syd share a startling encounter, after which he must confront the shocking possibility that the voices he hears and the visions he sees are the result of him being a mutant.

David becomes a hunted man after he escapes the hospital and seeks shelter with Melanie Bird and her team of specialists. There David is introduced to a whole other world of possibilities; He can rewrite his own history and is the key to winning the war.

Here is what we know about the series so far:

Haller’s abilities, as seen in the trailer, include telekinesis and warping. In the comics, it is known that David Haller is the son of Professor Charles Xavier, however this may be not be the case in the television series. According to Vulture.com, Legion is connected (in some part) to the X-Men film series, the first television series to do so, and is produced by FX Productions in association with Marvel Television and 26 Keys Productions. Although it may not be directly connected to the current X-Men film world, it is a parallel universe and it will relate to future X-Men movies. Therefore Legion does exist in the X-Men universe.

Legion is produced by FX Productions and Marvel Television, with FXP handling the physical production and stars Dan Stevens, Mackenzie Gray, Scott Lawrence, Katie Aselton and Aubrey Plaza. Legion is set to premiere in February 8, 2017, and run for eight episodes over its first season.
