Nicki Minaj continues to rule the world with her latest drops, which includes some top-tier collaborations (ex. “Run Up” with Major Lazer and “Swalla” with Jason Derulo). Her latest sees her and — Young Money boss — Lil Wayne connecting with French super-DJ David Guetta for the Electro-R&B cut “Light My Body Up” and its accompanying visual.

The clip centers around Minaj, who looks every bit the Queen of Hip-Hop (or even music, period)…Guetta is led to the Queens artist while a Styrofoam cup-wielding Tunechi delivers his contribution from a balcony.

Check out the Benny Boom-directed video for “Light My Body Up” below and pick up the single via iTunes. Add in Guetta’s other recent singles “Would I Lie To You” and the Afrojack-assisted “Another Life,” fans can probably expect a new album from him soon.

Over the past month, Nicki Minaj has been on a roll and it doesn’t seem like it will end anytime soon. Nicki Minaj teams up with her brother, Lil Wayne to join David Guetta on his new hit single “Light My Body Up.” This electrifying single features Nicki Minaj going back and forth singing and spitting while Lil Wayne ends the song with an amazing verse.

“Light My Body Up” isn’t the first time Minaj and Guetta have worked together. The two have connected on a number of tracks that have done amazing. Their collaborations such as “Turn Me On,” “Where Them Girls At” and “Hey Mama” all reached the Billboard Top 20 after their release. Directed By Amber Park the four have come together to create a lyrical master piece. Check out the music video below I’m sure you’ll enjoy.

It was just announced that Pharrell and DIPLO will star in a new music documentary called “808.” The documentary discusses the creation of the TR-808, a small machine that revolutionized music forever. The TR-808 changed the base beat of songs since it’s creation by Roland in 1980, altering the sound of tracks to one that we are familiar with today in EDM and hip-hop music. As a speaker in the documentary says, “It’s crazy to think that a little machine like this left such an important footprint on music.”

Including some of the biggest producers from the 80’s till 2016, the film features the greats – from the Beastie Boys to David Guetta – who created so many important hits using TR-808 technology. The documentary is also connected to Beats Audio and Beats 1 Radio, as they are the original account that posted the official trailer. Created by You Know Films, and premiering at SXSW, the movie has been nominated for many film awards.

It will be exclusively released on Apple Music on December 9th.

R&B and hip-hop have made a 90-degree turn towards Eurotrash electronica ever since “I Gotta Feeling,” and not everybody’s happy about it. The cloyingly saturated untz-untz-untz-untz beats provided by producers like David Guetta may guarantee Billboard entry, but for Drake, that comes at a price.

In a recent interview with NME, he said, “For me, the David Guetta stuff just doesn’t work. I don’t really wanna go there. There’s other artists, that’s their sound. They feel in order to thrive internationally that they gotta do straightforward, four to the floor, David Guetta, Pitbull music.”

But the Euro club shit ain’t garbage — it’s just more nuanced than American charts would have you believe. Drake has an open crush on British bass music DJs like James Blake and Jamie xx, and the latter produced the title track from Take Care.

“For me, I’d rather go to somebody like Jamie xx and tell him, ‘Look, I really wanna turn the club upside down, but I wanna do it with integrity, with soul,” says Drake.

No surprise that Guetta’s wave of neon EDM doesn’t tickle Drake’s fancy, but his remarks immediately recall Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded. Half of Nicki Minaj’s sophomore album was produced by the likes of RedOne and Dr. Luke — “straightforward, four to the floor, David Guetta, Pitbull music,” to say the least.

Nicki Minaj just linked fans via her Twitter page to a teaser of her “Where Them Girls At” video, set to release early next week. The video for the song, which features Flo Rida and David Guetta, uses NYC as its stage and looks to remain inventive and sexy in true Minaj fashion.
