Cultural influencer Karen Civil turned her fascination with the internet into a lucrative career. Her website, LiveCivil.com is a hub that aggregates content in news, music releases and celebrity interviews.

Civil’s point of entry in mainstream began as an intern with Funkmaster Flex. She’s also been responsible for connecting the dots on a marketing level with Beats by Dre headphones during their early stages with Monster headphones by marketing artists and athletes.

Last year, Civil was the director of cool during the Presidential election for Democratic hopeful Hillary Rodham Clinton.

This year, Civil put her hand into the role of producing a commercial with retired Dallas Cowboys quarterback, Tony Romo and rapper Teyana Taylor.

According to Civil, she has two more commercials coming with one more forthcoming on Christmas.

While she’s mum on the commercial and its contents, Civil hinted at a certain basketball marathon on Christmas day on ABC, TNT and ESPN. “It’s great because it’s about integration,” she said.

Former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Lucky Whitehead may have been vindicated on the charges of shoplifting, but that isn’t changing the mind of his former GM.

According to published reports,  the Prince William County Police Department issued a statement clearing Whitehead from all charges regarding the shoplifting incident, Whitehead and his agent, David Rich, labeled it a case of mistaken identity;  the Cowboys, however, released Whitehead from the roster, citing a pattern of behavior.

“At this point, the police department is also confident in confirming that Mr. Whitehead’s identity was falsely provided to police during the investigation,” according to the statement.”Since the identifying information provided by the arrested during the investigation was apparently false, the police department is working with the Prince William County Commonwealth Attorney’s Office to clear Mr. Whitehead from this investigation.”

During an interview with the Dallas Morning News, Whitehead spoke on the situation saying he was “blindsided” by the release and offended that no one in the management of the Cowboys had his back.

“Let’s not sugarcoat anything. I was pretty much being called a liar. No one [in Cowboys management] had my back in the whole situation. I knew about it at, what? 12:45. By 2:30, I’m released.”

During an interview with ESPN, Whitehead’s agent revealed the original report was a total surprise to everyone.

“Everybody was [surprised], the Cowboys, Lucky, myself,” David Rich said. “That’s what drove this thing. From the first call, it was a breakup tone. I’ve been broken up with before, and I know what that sounds like. It was, ‘You better have a darn good reason for this,’ and we were completely blindsided by it.”

Despite the wide receiver being cleared from wrong doing, the Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett said during a press conference that the team decision was made and he supports it and that the Cowboys are refocusing their attention to new players that are currently under the media’s radar.

“Yesterday we made a decision that was deemed to be in the best interest of the Dallas Cowboys. We’re standing by that decision. We’re going to move on.”

Whitehead is also moving on. According to his agent, he has three or four teams interested in signing him to their teams. Although he didn’t reveal them specifically, he was confident that his client’s ability will have him on the field for the upcoming season.

“It’s disappointing, but it’s a tough life lesson for the young man,” Rich said. “He’ll be fine. I’ve had three or four teams reach out to me already, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he was picked up, especially with the way rosters are right now. You can add a receiver from Long Beach State Community College or add a guy like Lucky Whitehead, who has a pretty good body of work.”

Rich said he will consult with Whitehead and Whitehead’s family over what direction to pursue next, either legally or with the NFL Players Association.

“Right now, he just wants to play football,” Rich said. “He had a challenge ahead of him, and he was ready for the challenge. He was tweeting 20 minutes before the first practice how excited he was. It’s been a tough 24 hours. I think it will make him stronger.”

ESPN reported that Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant is listed as questionable for Wednesday night’s Game 2 of their first-round series against the Portland Trail Blazers with a strained left calf.

Durant cramped up before Game 1 but still played, scoring 32 points and hauling in 10 rebounds in the Warriors’ 121-109 win in Game 1.

Some may be a bit worried because he’d previously sat out 19 games during the regular season with a strained MCL and a bone bruise in his left leg.

Durant has been a lightning rod for criticism since last summer. Durant bolted his stay as a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder and joined the Golden State Warriors via free agency last offseason.

NFL Pro-Bowler Terrell Owens, a huge basketball fan himself saw Durant’s decision as nothing more than business. Nothing wrong,” Terrell Owens told me on Scoop B Radio Overtime.

“KD, LeBron they played out the entirety of their contracts and now they become unrestricted free agents, what’s wrong with them going out there and shopping the market?”

Perceived to be the favorite in the NBA’s Western Conference, the Warriors added Durant as a piece to help spell Klay Thompson, Stephen Curry and Draymond Green offensively. It has worked. Owens sees Durant’s decision as a prototype for all current players and he compares it to his NFL bretheren. “I was in a situation like that,” said Owens.

“Just say a  guy has five years in his deal, he gets to that third year, organization, management cuts him, nobody says anything about the management. It’s a business decision, those two words right there Business decision, is what management and owners use when they cut people and they make business moves so  these players are getting smart just like owners in managerial positions making business decisions.”

It is mind boggling how well Dak Prescott is playing right now. It is equally as mind boggling hearing Tony Romo’s name still in the conversation for being the starting quarterback when healthy. With the Dallas Cowboys looking at a 11-1 record, personally it is difficult to make a valid argument to making changes for the team. Swapping Tony Romo for Dak Prescott can be the worst mistake the Cowboys could make.

Romo is a quarterback notorious for blowing games in the last minutes. Even though the previous quarterback of the Cowboys did throw for more touch downs than Dak Prescott, the statistic that stands out the most are interceptions. Twelve games into the season, Dak Prescott has only two interceptions. Tony Romo averages ten interceptions a year. While ten interceptions may not seem as dangerous as I make it seem, consider the amount of games that Romo played. Due to back problems, Romo was forced to miss several games. In the spam of his eleven year career, he has only played in an entire season four times. The other seven years he suffered injuries that sidelined him. The worst being in 2015 where he only played four games but tagged along seven interceptions.

With a player with the potential of Dak Prescott, why would the Dallas Cowboys risk going back to losing seasons? Even though Tony Romo healthy is a legitimate quarterback, he is not as efficient as Prescott. The future with their star running back Ezekiel Elliot and their prospect quarterback Dak Prescott, the future seems bright for the new Dallas Cowboys. Placing Tony Romo into the mix not only ruins the momentum of the winning Cowboys, but also wastes valuable years of their running back. The smart move for Jerry Jones is to let Dak Prescott win games for the franchise.
