Kanye West has prepared another short film for our viewing pleasure. Donning the same title as the upcoming G.O.O.D. Music compilation album, Cruel Summer was directed and co-written by Kanye himself and will debut at the Cannes Film Festival on May 23. The debut will feature both an art installation and a short film. The debut is quite ambitious, claiming to feature a “7 Screen Experience.”

Incidentally, a few weeks ago some videos surfaced of a mysterious project that Kanye had been working on. At that time it was unclear whether the videos were from the set of his rumored film for Cannes or from the video for “No Church in the Wild.” Because there is no footage of the film available yet, this mystery is still unresolved, but we can infer that he was filming Cruel Summer.  Remembering the strangeness of the video for “Runaway,” it is hard to predict the quality of the film. Whatever happens though, in the end, one thing is for certain: Kanye loves France!
