If you thought Odd Future was done doing posse cuts, you were so wrong. “Look” features Tyler, the Creator, Hodgy Beats, Domo Genesis, and Earl Sweatshirt “straight rapping” over a knock-kneed Nottz beat, each giving some interesting thoughts on how they’ve been personally affected by fame and expectations. We have no idea where this will end up, but it is interesting to think about how this song fits into their recent output: they all sound so much older. Listen below.

If you are into pure graffiti you are going to be into John “Crash” Matos. His work is composed of bold lettering and vivid colors. From 1981 to 2013 Crash has been crashing onto our walls, and isn’t stopping any time soon.

Born in 1961, John “Crash” Matos was raised in the Bronx, New York, and his art work is proof. From age 13, Matos followed the older kids from his neighborhood to go bombing. His moniker “Crash” sprang from an incident that same year when he accidentally crashed a computer in his school. From then on, “Crash” in stylistic variations could be spotted throughout the city. The 80’s saw Crash’s journey from the train yards into galleries. He contributed largely to launching the graffiti movement as a whole, his iconic patterns leading to collaborations with many big-name companies. He has brought his distinctive style to Absolut Vodka and Levi’s among others. Check out his latest work:

Joe “Crash” Matos to Host Non-Profit Event

This Friday, June 18^th, New York City Graffiti artist, Joe “Crash” Matos, will be teaming up with The Mattera Foundation to host a non-profit event to raise money and awareness for children residing in Indian brothels. The event, to be held at the Mattera’s personal residence, will seek to raise $200,000 for educational and housing centers by auctioning off original Crash artwork. Items to be auctioned off include 15 signed mixed media series, and 250 posters, all signed and numbered on archival paper.
