Conor Harrington has landed in New York City for the opening of the upcoming exhibition with Lazarides, “Eat and Delete.” The Irish artist collaborated with The Lisa Project to work on this new piece in Manhattan. As usual, Conor quickly worked through this piece by showing one of his signature colonial characters.

Harrington has also curated a second piece for The Lisa Project in Manhattan. The paintings, which are found on Lafayette Street, were painted using water, acetone and paint. Check out the exhibition, which opens this weekend at 268 Mulberry St.

London based artist Conor Harrington was recently in Spain for the Wide Walls Event where he laced the streets Mallorca with a new piece. Conor stays true to his dripping technique in this portrait of a young boy (above), the monochromatic palette allowing the drama of the image to shine.

Fin Dac and Dtoar, have been working on a new collaboration in the streets of LA. Their styles intertwine perfectly, delivering a wholly harmonious piece. Like with Conor Harrington, the lack of color creates a focus on shapes and shadows to create movement and realism. This explosion of monochromatic tones carry as much vivacity as any use of color could. From textured brush strokes to dynamic framing, these artists have monochromes down pat.

Meet Fintan Switzer, an Irish street artist. He challenges the art of street-portraiture by merging his traditional style to the urban world. “After years of painting rather conventional portraits, I wanted to try something new. Considering many of my favorite artists have worked on the street, I figured it was worth a try,” he explains. Switzer‘s recent works, such as  “Webcam Wars”, “Waltz With The Philistine”, “Post Oppression Depression,” are about conflict and revolution.

The viewer can see within his murals the contrast between his old style and his freeing personality. Contemporary street art meets traditional technique. The artist conveys extremely strong political messages. It is always interesting to see the perspective of street artists from different origins and backgrounds on international affairs. Switzer‘s murals are quite similar to Conor Harrington who also uses the drops of paint to create a fading movement in his works. Conor Harrington will be featured in an upcoming magazine: Tally Ho!
