The next chance to catch the young PUMA phenom will be Sunday, March 8th as the Lakers’ take on the highly-touted Los Angeles Clippers in their final regular-season matchup. In their last battle on Christmas Day, the Clippers came away with the victory but Kuzma stepped up leading the Lakers with 25 points on red-hot shooting.

Los Angeles Clippers guard Jawun Evans chatted with Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson about Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Isaiah Thomas. Press Play Below To Listen.

Los Angeles Clippers point guard Jawun Evans  put on a show in Los Angeles Friday night. Evans poured in 22 points, dished out eight assists and hauled in four rebounds in 42 minutes of preseason action against Staples Center co-tenant Los Angeles Lakers.

A second round pick in this year’s draft, Evans played an air tight all around game. He shot 8/17 from the field and only missed three free throws and added two steals.

While he’ll back up newly minted Clippers point guard Patrick Beverley, Evans is not someone you should sleep on. In his freshman year at Oklahoma State he averaged a shade under 13 points and 5 assists.  He set an Oklahoma State record as a freshman when he notched 42 points against the school’s rival, University of Oklahoma.

Listed at 6’0 but realistically about 5’11, Evans has got something to prove. A second rounder? 5’11? Hmm…sounds familiar.

At 5’9, Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Isaiah Thomas defied odds as a member of the Boston Celtics last season. He led the team to the NBA Playoffs and playing inspired basketball after the death of his sister.

Juwan Evans sees the similarities in their game. “Yeah because I can score in different ways,” Jawun Evans told me on Scoop B Radio.

“But also get my teammates involved. And I just make my teammates better so I can do a little bit of both so yeah I can see the comparison.”

A first-team all-conference and a third-team All-American by Sporting News magazine as a sophomore at Oklahoma State, Evans like Thomas says he is doubted for an obvious reason. “I  would have to say my size,” he said.

“I say that, because I’m a little bit shorter than everybody. But I can do the same things that everybody else can do like rebound and score the ball.”

After all, Evans did average 4.4 rebounds in his freshman season at Oklahoma State.

Evans saw an upward spike in his minutes in all four of his preseason games. If he continues to play well in Doc Rivers’ system, he’ll be rewarded. Friday’s preseason game against was a dress rehearsal. Both teams will open up their season playing each other on Thursday at Staples Center.

Katrina Jo has had quite a diverse career. A Freemont, California native, Jo’s talent has brought her all around the world, appearing on television shows, commercials and ad campaigns while also performing with the likes of Kaskade, T.I., Ludacris, Mariah Carey, Missy Elliot, The Pussycat Dolls and others.

During her career she was on the San Diego Chargers’ dance team for three years, as well as the Los Angeles Clippers dance team for four.

That’s a huge circuit of things to do that and she’s handle it with grace.

“Absolutely, I was also teaching, I was also choreographing for artists or DJs in Los Angeles,” Katrina Jo told me on a recent episode of Scoop B Radio.

“I was also hosting events out in Los Angeles and that also brought me into starting my own company which is Glam Girls LA which mainly consists of alumni NBA and NFL dancers and kind of just takings things full circle; with that and getting into the sports and entertainment world on the back end of things as well.”

In addition to Glam Girls LA, Jo’s entrepreneurial experience in the entertainment industry are vast. She’s also the co-founder of Game Day Pros – a skill development company specializing in offering dance clinics to pro-team hopefuls throughout the nation and co-founder of Powering Other Women – a networking organization which links top women of the industry to come together and empower one another.

Los Angeles Clippers guard, Jamal Crawford has been in the NBA for 16 years!

Time flies when you’re having fun.

Drafted out of Michigan in the 2000 NBA Draft, Crawford is revered for his smooth ball handling ability and crafty scoring. That combo has won him three NBA Sixth Man of The Year awards.

Although a member of the Clippers, many folks out east remember Crawford as a member of the New York Knicks.

One guy who remembers J-Crossover’s talent is the man who traded for him, NBA Hall of Famer Isiah Thomas. Thomas, once the Knicks’ President and head coach, had a keen eye on the Rainier Beach High School product. “I had followed Jamal since he came from Seattle to Michigan,” Thomas told me by phone on a recent episode of the Scoop B Radio podcast. “And I thought: a 6’6” guy with handles.”

Crawford’s best statistcal season came during the 2007-08 NBA season while with the Knicks. He averaged 20 points and 5 assists in 80 games for the orange and blue. “His body was just, his game was ahead of his body, if that makes sense; like the things he was trying to do out on the floor,” said Thomas.

“He was seeing the right things to do. You knew he was mature. And over the last couple of years, once his body caught up with his game, I mean, he’s been swinging points whenever he wants to.”

At one time, the Knicks had a roster that included Crawford, Stephon Marbury, Zach Randolph, David Lee, Wilson Chandler, Nate Robinson, Channing Frye, Steve Francis and Trevor Ariza. That’s a few championship rings, NBA All Star appearances and Slam Dunk Contest trophies attached to those names.

Disappointingly, the formula didn’t work out.

In a day and age where teams build through the NBA Draft like the once intact Oklahoma City team that included Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and James Harden, as well as the current ‘Trust the Process,’ Philadelphia 76ers.

Imagine if that Knicks team had stayed together. “They were all under the age of 27 and that was a young team,” said Thomas “Had they been able to stay together and flourish, that would’ve been a pretty good team in the East.”
