Blame it on Pete Rock and CL Smooth, but every time there’s a saxophone on a hip-hop track, it evokes something genuine for the listener and SdotCrown seems well aware of this as he sets the scene musically on “City of God.” The Queens lyricist uses the juxtaposition of relentless aggression and character in his cadence over this sultry beat produced by Mira-Cal to make this record a stand-out. The accompanying gritty visual, completes the trifecta of a project with fire sound and dope lines while DTweez comes through with the rapid fire lyrical assist.

OG Dutch Master is quickly becoming a staple on the Baltimore scene with Twitter co-signs from the likes of Danny Brown and Surf Club’s Chase N Cashe and collaborations with the local scene.

With his debut project, Art Of War, he established himself on the local scene. Now he’s beginning to break free of his original format with this new project, 3.5 Gramz. The 4-Track mixtape serves up a cold dish with the jazzy “Dimez” eerily reminiscent of early Curren$y. Check it out below and if you’re in the Baltimore area you might one to check at least one of these upcoming shows this 4/20:

4/20 | 1 to 6pm – City of Gods w/ Mickey Factz

4/20 | 7 to 1am – Clctve Studio w/ Smoke DZA, Stalley & Gunplay
