This cut comes from one of the most overlooked projects of 2011, Phonte’s Charity Starts at Home. 9th Wonder is on the beat and Big KR.I.T.‘s on a verse, so you know the beat and the flow will be knocking. Evidence, unfortunately, couldn’t make it to the video shoot, but surprisingly, in a clutch performance, Phonte’s mother delivers his verse. And she does it well, too.

North Carolina and Mississippi are well represented here. And let’s not front like that “New Tigallo” tee isn’t fresh.

Yesterday Phonte put out the visuals to his track, “The Good Fight,”off his debut solo album Charity Starts At Home. If you haven’t had a chance to check out this album, you’re slacking. Nevertheless, Phonte’s flow is front and center on this joint. I can’t say enough about the list of producers on this album, not the least of which includes former fellow Little Brother member 9th Wonder. Phonte got together with Evidence and Big K.R.I.T. on the third official release off the North Carolina-bred spitta’s upcoming debut album.  Charity Starts At Home, Phonte’s solo debut album, is set to hit stores in a week (9/27) and features a number of 9th Wonder produced tracks, not to mention this joint.  This cut features three emcees who find their zone on 9thmatic’s offering, and fortunately we’ll only have to wait a week for the rest of this project.  Check out the track below.

Phonte dropped a new record yesterday with help from Detroit-bred emcee eLZhi and producer 9th Wonder.  “Not Here Anymore” is set to be the fourth track on Phonte’s debut solo LP, Charity Starts At Home, which drops September 27th.  9th Wonder complements his former Little Brother member quite well on this joint with a smooth beat to match some silky vocals, not to mention a fire hook.  See more on Phonte’s LP HERE.
