Colorful, Cultural and Contagious is the direction in the visuals which pays homage to her appreciation for her culture. She takes viewers on a tour of the simple pleasures the island of Jamaica features. Such as the beaches where the fishermen dock their boats and the bustling Palm trees blowing in the wind. Donning multiple colorful outfits, Etana plays herself, as she arrives to Jamaica where the love that is shared with her is endless and she reciprocates that love with her signature smile.

Walking out barefoot at Fire Fly in Port Maria is the performance piece where Etana is playful and dancing around joyfully in a vibrant flowing yellow dress overlooking, the landscape of the island. The storyline is filled with displays of people “Spreading Love” in their everyday life. While some of the scenes were scripted, such as the young school girl sharing her box lunch with a fellow student or the candid moments of Etana engaging with the locals as she joined men playing dominos or batting during a cricket match and casually washing the hair of a visibly enthused fan; these precious moments is what makes the video such a beautiful display of Spreading Love. “What you give is what you get back” in the form of “Spreading Love” was the theme throughout the video and will leave viewers in a peaceful mantra.

Q: As A Rising Artist, What Has Been The Highlights Of Career?

A: “My entire career has been a highlight. I didn’t really started inspiring to be an artist. I think getting up everyday doing music is a highlight for me.”

Q: How Do You Feel About The Caribbean Influence In Today’s American Market?

A: “I love it and I don’t think that it is new. Jamaican music has a whole in all has influenced the many worlds for years. All though we have the Drake‘s, and the Kendrick‘s, Justin Biebers; you hear it a lot more now. I’m a big fan of Drake. Caribbean music as whole – these artists put our culture on a big platform.”

Q: What Have You Been Involved In For SXSW?

A: “I have my label show, I’m signed to Empire. I’ve been with a lot of my label mates. I’ve been doing a whole lot, interviews, and networking.”

Q: What Do You Have Planned For The Rest Of 2018?

A: “Right now the focus is on the album, “It Feel Good.” We’re just pushing it to see how far we can take it. It’s releasing soon.”
