On February 23, Trans Lifeline reported the highest number of calls since Donald Trump‘s victory after the president reversed decisions on transgender bathroom protections in schools, according to NBC.

Trans Lifeline is the country’s first crisis hotline dedicated entirely to helping the transgender community, and is staffed entirely by non-gender conforming individuals. With the announcement that Title IX does not protect gender identity and that it is now states’ decisions on what policies to implement, the hotline received 379 calls on Feb. 23, much higher in number and severity than the January average of 139 calls per day. This had been the highest since after Trump was elected when the calls had shot up to 600 the day after the November 8 victory.

Trans Lifeline was not the only hotline reporting an increase in calls. The Trevor Project, a hotline which works for a broader range of LGBT+ individuals, reported a 35% increase in calls and chats after the decision was made, and had also had a large increase after Trump’s victory. Sheri Lunn, VP of Marketing and Strategic Engagement for The Trevor Project said that:

“Our community was extremely worried about what the Trump administration might mean for them. What we saw immediately after the election was shock, fear, and panic and now we are seeing disgust, fear, and action.”

While extremely concerning for the majority of the community, most are not surprised with this decision. Others, such as Caitlyn Jenner, are starting to experience some voters remorse after the 23rd. Jenner had tweeted “Well @realDonaldTrump, from one Republican to another, this is a disaster. You made a promise to protect the LGBTQ community. Call me.” She had also released a video directed at those who will be affected by the new policies, which has faced its own critical response from others in the transgender community.

While thousands had rallied in support of transgender individuals, it does not change the fact that the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention reports that 41% of transgender people in the U.S. will attempt to commit suicide, and that there is still a disturbing amount of hate crimes against transgender people. At least 12 states are currently considering rollbacks in transgender protection laws.

Ray J is potentially the first of those depicted naked in Kanye West’s “Famous” video, to take legal action. According to Daily Mail, Ray J and his manager, David Weintraub are in the midst of discussing plans to take legal action against Kanye West for the unauthorized inclusion and naked depiction of the R&B singer.

Earlier this month Kanye West released the largely controversial music video to his stand out track “Famous.” While there are many things to take away from The Life Of Pablo, one particular line had social media in an uproar.

“Too all my southside n***** that know me best/I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/why? I made that b**** famous”

While this is obviously controversial for many reasons, its the visuals that now has people talking. The video in question is a 10:44 minute, avant-garde take on a few celebrities in which have directly affected Kanye’s own life. In proceeding order, George Bush, Anna Wintour, Donald trump, Rihanna, Chris Brown, Taylor Swift, Kanye West, Kim Kardashian-West, Ray J, Amber Rose, Caitlyn Jenner, and finally Bill Cosby, are all depicted naked in wax form, lying next to each other beneath white sheets, on a large bed. While the visuals alone would understandably be tough to digest for anyone, it appears to be the order in which they’ve been placed that’s causing Ray J the most pain. This stemming from years ago in which a sex tape between the now wife of Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, and former lover Ray J, propelled them into infamous stardom.

Regarding Ray J’s position on pursuing legal situation, Weintraub told Heat Magazine “We’re talking about potentially doing something. There’s too many times Kanye has done this. You can’t really continue to use people’s likenesses without either compensation or clearance. It seems to be becoming an issue—this is like the fourth time in six months he’s done this. We haven’t really worked anything out. There were kind of discussions but it’s getting old, so our legal team is working out what we want to do with everything.”

Legal action may be happening sooner rather than later considering Ray J isn’t too pleased with the amount of controversy the new music video has caused him in his personal life. Last week, Ray J told Entertainment Tonight “I’m engaged. My marriage is all messed up ’cause of craziness. I’m not part of nothing crazy. I walk down a good path. My fiancee tripping. It’s all bad in my world, and that ain’t cool. Don’t put me part of nothing that’s weird, that don’t make no sense. Can I grow up?”

It will be interesting to see how Ray J and his legal team proceed with this unusual case, however it looks like Kanye Wests tweet daring someone to sue him over the video may just come true after all (watch video below).
