North Carolina’s Tange Lomax recently dropped her EP entitled No Hard Feelings, that brings a lot of personal things to the light on a chill wave. I first heard about the artist last May through C9’s JK The Reaper and once I heard their duo song “Breakthrough“ , it was clear that she was bringing something we’ve never heard before to the  table. The Carolina rapper says that she’s inspired by Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill , Eve, Ludacris, Jill Scott, and JAY Z. Not only did she recently drop the new EP but she also shot a video for her single, “Black Models”.  Check out the rising artists’ latest  EP as well as the video below and let us know what you think!

JK The Reaper takes us on a twisted journey with his visual treatment of “Suicide Note.” Prepping for his release of “Almost Angelic 2,” FANG LIFE/C9’s JK The Reaper showcases ominous self-exploration as he details the darker (albeit more enlightened) sides of consciousness. Armed with a vintage Firebird, BMX bikes, and 40’s, JK and CO. create a vivid environment of angst rap, chronicling the lesser discussed realities of the craft and life altogether. “Suicide Note” depicts true feelings and realities. Thank you JK for bringing them to life.

The whole concert was split in half bringing out artists from Kirk Collins and Austin Royale to Key! (former member of Two-9) and Denzel Curry’s fellow labelmate, JK The Reaper. Media outlets like Smoker’s Club, The Fader, and many others were present to take notice of the range of talent that came out to perform.

Out of all the performances, the artist who really stood out was Charlotte’s very own Rashaun Hampton. As soon as he popped on stage during the day show with his song “Jesus Piece,” he literally only had to rap 2 bars [PAUSE] –a rare thing to happen in a local Charlotte-based event. The entire crowd truly embraced what Hampton had to offer.

Rashaun Hampton was considerably the breakout act at the concert and will definitely keep holding Charlotte’s attention as a rising artist out of the 704.
