Christian Guémy is a French street artist from Paris. Often described as “the French answer to Banksy,” C215 produces mostly close-up portraits of people. His aim is to draw attention to the forgotten memembers of our society: beggars and homeless people.

For him, “graffiti consists on leaving tracks behind you, so I never go somewhere to paint but I paint wherever I go… It’s completely different.”

C215’s work is often small. “I am not trying to shock anyone,” he says.

French street artist Christian Guémy, otherwise known as C215, has recently created some amazingly realistic pencil drawings in Barcelona and Berlin. C215 has been an active street artist for over 20 years with his first stencil work appearing in 2006. Apparently, according to Street Art London, he’s passed on the talent. His daughter has joined the family business making her own 2 layer stencils. See much more on Flickr.
