This year, the Broccoli City Festival came out with a bang, from the amazing lineup to their conferences. The performers included Migos, Cardi B, Miguel, H.E.R., Daniel Caesar and many more. The tickets were sold out weeks after the initial announcement. This is Broccoli’s fifth year in doing these festivals, bringing attention to Earth Day and helping to build communities for the future generation.

Rich The Kid was going up the whole performance. He performed most of the hit singles off of his new album, The Word is Yours — including “Plug Walk” (which has gone platinum twice) and “New Freezer” (which originally sees assistance from Kendrick Lamar).

H.E.R. came out with an elegant flow that will have you speechless after her set closes. She performed numerous hit singles off of her Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 EPs. She also gave us a preview of her new single (BCFest attendees were the first ones to hear it) from a forthcoming album in the works. Her song transitions on stage were a game changer. With a live band and background vocalists backing her, most people were really excited to see her perform her soulful songs and got more than enough in return.

Nipsey Hussle gave us a West Coast performance that we will never forget. His set us a taste of what his Victory Lap tour would look like. as he performed his latest songs off of his official debut album. He ended his set by playing “F Donald Trump” (which features YG) while superimposing the now infamous photo of a MAGA hat-wearing Kanye West on the screen; he added that ‘Ye has lost his mind following a recent Twitter rant about Trump. The Bronx native Cardi B had fun with her set. Fans were hyped for her last performance before she gives birth to her baby girl, and she definitely turned up in D.C. She came out delivering bars from her single “Get Up on 10,” off her debut (and Gold) album, Invasion of Privacy. She gave us a little twerk session when she performed the YG-assisted “She Bad” (of which she will have a visual for post-baby delivery). As a final song before she left the stage, she performed a five-times Platinum record “Bodak Yellow,” which everyone knew word for word.

Last but not least were amazing performances from R&B heartthrob Miguel and current Rap kings Migos, who brought the house down with their long list of chart-topping hits. You can check out more pics from those acts below.

All-in-all, BCFest continue to outdo themselves year-after-year with great music, great food choices, creative activities and A-list surprises — word to Sasha Obama. I can only imagine what they have in store for next year.

Despite rain and cold weather, D.C.’s Broccoli City Fest was on fire!  The festival’s objective is to promote healthier and more environmentally friendly lifestyles in cool and relevant ways. With healthy food truck alternatives, on-site spinning and yoga classes, and a strict recycling policy, Broccoli City Fest did just that.

The festival featured an amazing lineup on its big stage. Virginia songstress, Abir used her soulful sound to bring good vibes to the crowd, while Chicago’s Tink got the crowd turned up, despite the rain. Later, Willow and Jaden Smith brought their energy (and dance moves) to the stage as they performed. Joey BadA$$ started a moshpit as he performed hits from B4.DA.$$ with Kirk Knight and Statik Selektah.

Headliner Erykah Badu closed out the show with Thundercat on the bass. During her set, the songstress transformed into her alter ego DJ Lo Down Loretta Brown and played a plethora of tracks including Tyler, The Creator’s, “Fucking Young/Perfect” and some Outkast to which she shouted over the mic “My baby daddy, Y’all!” Before she left the stage, Erykah gave an awesome DC tribute!

With less than three weeks away until Broccoli City’s Earth Day festival, they team up with Goldlink’s DJ Kidd Marvel for “The BC Fest Mix.” The soundtrack to Broccoli City Festival features great mixes with the goddess Erykah Badu, Jaden Smith and more. Kidd doesn’t just include today’s music, he also includes throwback hits -with a smooth touch to it. Definitely a great mix to listen to, and get your mind right before the festivities.

Broccoli City has announced their final line up for Broccoli City Festival, with three new additions to the Earth Day celebration, Jaden & Willow Smith, and Tiara Thomas.

DJ Lo Down Loretta Brown AKA Erykah Badu, will be the headliner for the event, with supporting performances by Joey Bada$$, Kaytranada, Tink, Kali Uchis, Lightshow, Sunny & Gabe and more. BC Fest will be held in Washington, DC, offering nothing but great vibes, fitness, outstanding food trucks and beautiful art.

This will be an event you don’t want to miss, as it caters to the music-going fans while still combining the education of living a healthier lifestyle.

Broccoli City just announced their line-up for “BC FEST” in DC this year which will include  Grammy award-winning singer, songwriter and actress, Erykah Badu – aka DJ Lo Down Loretta Brown ,  Joey Bada$$ ,Tink , Kaytrandada Kali Uchis and more to be announced.

Debuting in 2013, the annual Earth Day celebration unites thousands of  festival-goers for a day of art, food, culture, yoga, and a wide range of musical performances.
