With a house full of men, Mommy (Evelyn Braxton) is having herself a good time at her ‘Devil is a Lie Party’. Trina Braxton decides that two can play the same game and ponders on how she can set mom up in Georgia, that way she would want to stay in Atlanta.  The fun began with Trina’s Traci Braxton orgasmic impersonation on the floor, which will have you on the floor yourself.  The fun turned serious when Mommy’s name came back up; the sisters disagreed in debate about where she was going to stay.  Trina is fired up, and now plots to declare war back on the West Coast sisters to find her a man.  Trina puts the other East Coast sisters up to it and decides to get a matchmaker to set mommy up at Bar Chix.  Mommy had already made it clear to stay out of business once.

Meanwhile, Towanda Braxton drops by Toni Braxton‘s for some fun with red wine, pizza, and the smoke detector.  In the meantime, Toni has made a decision to no longer live in a box and wants to learn how to swim. Towanda wants Toni to date, making Toni admit that she thinks she might be ready despite all that has happened in her past.  Towanda thinks up a master plan in her mind.

Tamar Braxton and Mommy met to talk about the plethora of old men and the angels.  Tamar wants to hire some one to intervene, like a medium and to tell her sisters, then Tamar gets scared. Towanda sets Toni up with lessons to swim and some eye candy to look at in the sweet water.  Toni isn’t ready to get wet the first time, but she will be ready in private the next time.

Back in Atlanta, the East Coast sisters are striking back to find Mommy a man when they learned who Dejuan was.  The shade gets real and the heat is on when the mixed group of men are pre-screened and filtered before they get to Mommy.  Jail, dancing, male enhancements, snow, and the swirl are just the beginning of what the sisters have to encounter before Mommy walks in the door.  After some short lived backlash, being thrown under the bus and Mommy accepting that the girls have had their hands in the cookie jar, she finally decides to accept the offer. Traci and Towanda are left to scoot out the rejects and four are left to tune the heart strings of Mommy.

Arranged swimming lessons at Tamar’s house turns into a popcorn and show.  The coach stands up to the cocktail watching audience.  Are these really swimming lessons or a date or a spiritual moment and Yogi and Boo Boo?

Tamar breaks the news to her sisters on the angels and invitations.  Trina and Tamar get into a non-invited fall out and Mommy has something to say.

Weekly recap of Thursday’s Braxton Family Values starts below with episode 1:

After all the pain and healing from last season amongst the sisters, the joy is tested this fifth season due to news that Evelyn Braxton (Mommy) has suffered a mini stroke; causing chaos between the bunch. The episode begins in LA at Tamar Braxton‘s house, in which I am glad to see she is better this season after battling an illness last year, which was all on film during the last season of Tamar and Vince, which is a spin-off of the Braxton Family Values with Tamar and her husband Vincent Herbert.

This episode kicks off super humorous when Towanda Braxton asks the girls to come to Atlanta for a little auntie/niece moment for a coming of age party, when it was really a trick into coming over for help having the birds and the bees conversation with her 9-year-old daughter Brooke. While the conversation had me cracking up, the sisters were super uncomfortable.

The show takes a more serious turn when big sister Toni Braxton and Tamar stops at mommy’s condo to check on her and her condition, which kick started the Mommy-tug-a-war between the West Coast and the East Coast sisters.

Traci Braxton also had a health scare of her own this episode, visiting the gynecologist with sisters Towanda and Trina Braxton alongside on the visit.  The doctor drops a bomb that it might be time for a hysterectomy because of some of issues that she has been having that could possibly be harmful if not resolved and also to find out that since the holiday Braxton episode she has been suffering a heavenly abnormal condition called Persistent Genital Arousal Disorder, which she now has to see a specialist.

Although, the sisters had their own agenda, mommy also had her own plan too, in which Tamar was not happy with at first.  Despite the beginning, this season’s first episode ended with a celebration of life, or what was supposed to be until Tamar walks out on Trina during mommy’s ‘The Devil is a Lie’ party.

Up next on episode two, the Braxton sisters try to find love for mommy when they may have stumbled across some danger while doing so.  Make sure to watch this Thursday at 9:00 PM ET on WE tv to see how this sticky situation unfolds.
