“I don’t know what you heard about me/ But”… I didn’t produce this song? 50 Cent and Dr. Dre are being sued over one of their most popular hit “P.I.M.P.”

Producer, Brandon Parrott claims that he created the beat and sent it to Dr. Dre in 2001. However, Parrott was uncredited on the album.

“P.I.M.P” appears on 50 Cent’s 2003 debut album, Get Rich or Die Trying, and features the instantly recognizable beat that shot 50 to stardom. 50’s haze of bravado and ice-cold stare were perfectly suited to his boastful “P.I.M.P.”

According to Complex, Parrott had later signed a settlement for the beat that he sent to Dr. Dre. 50 and Dre claimed that they had not predicted Parrott’s work would end up on the final version of the song.

So why, and how, was Parrott still uncredited? The album credits Denaun Porter as the sole producer for “P.I.M.P.”

Now, over a decade later, Parrott states that he heard information from 50 and Dre that contradict their business deal. Could the crowned kings of hip-hop really have concealed their intentions for the song, and brushed Parrott under the rug?

The amount that Parrott could make off of this lawsuit is unclear. Parrott is sure to get rich or sue trying, but let’s just say it’s bound to be more than fifty cents if the case wins.

Ironically, the song in question has 50 Cent rap, “a b***h can’t get a dollar out of me.” You can’t make this stuff up. Just for kicks, check out “P.I.M.P.” remix below!
